COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jaw-Jacker balances our finest malted barley with a bit-o-wheat and is complimented with a citrus hop kick and just the right amount of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice for a nice marriage of pumpkin pie and beer. Made in the fall to celebrate the changing of the season.

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2011 12 ounce bottle, no bottle date but most likely from this season. Pours very hazy golden orange color with a fairly dense 1-2 fingers of off white head with nice retention that reduces to a thin lacing cap. Aromas of big cinnamon, clove, pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, caramel, and a bit of citrus. Decent aromas here, but there seems to be an odd medicinal aroma as well. Taste of big spiciness, clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon up front; with some caramel and sweetness near the finish. Not much bitterness on the finish; but notes of big spices, pepper, clove, and cinnamon linger on the finish. Medium bodied with fairly high carbonation; with a bit of a creamy moutfeel and smooth drinkability despite the carbonation level. No alcohol noticed other than a slight warming after the finish. Overall this is actually quite good for a spiced ale. Good balance of spices and sweetness, and I definitely enjoyed this.

Strong aroma of pumpkin pie spics, brown sugar, just what I would expect from this style of beer. The flavor hints at cinnamon and nutmeg, with a solid bready malt backbone. Very little hops. Above average pumpkin beer.

12oz bottle poured into snifter. Hazy brown color with a thin off white head, thin and lacy. Aroma has a nice pumpkin pie scent to it with a nice hint of vanilla. Flavor is very sub par, very little pumpkin flavor. Only got a little on the back end.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2011 Poured from a bottle into a pint glass at Dema (Westin) in Detroit, Mich. Color was a darker amber. Looked hoppy right off the bat. Minimal amount of head, lacing and film. Smelled pumpkin pie, nutmeg and cinnamon. A bit off-putting. Initial taste was nutmeg. Also some pumpkin pie and some cinnamon spices. A sharp hoppy finish. Medium body. Dry finish with spices on the end of the tongue. Soft carbonation and flattened out even more at the end. I guess I’m glad I tried this, so I know not to the next time.

draft... light copper body, great super lasting head with great retention and lacing... the nose has a touch of spice, in between a pumpkin beer and xmas beer... the taste is lots of spice as the backbone of the beer, but somehow it works and doesn’t over power, really nice cinnamon notes... not my style of beers at all but I enjoyed this one

Least favorite of the night. Pour was bland and unexciting. No head. Aroma is hoppy and mild cinnamon. Flavor is slightly slinky and hoppy. Some pumpkin and cinnamon.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2011 On tap at hop angel. Great aroma of cinammon, nutmeg. Taste is sort of pumpkin, mostly cinammon. A bit too heavy on the spices and light on the pumpkin.

On tap at the HopCat. I am starting to find pumpkin beers late summer. This one had significant and distinct pumpkin, as well as other spices to enhance drinkability. Cloudy yellow with some lace. Above average mouthfee. Not bad, and cinammon and nutmeg are spices I like. Mildly spicy aromas.

Hazy amber with a pillowy beige crown and a ring of lace around the top. Spicy aroma with cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, malt and perhaps pumpkin. Taste is mild with nutmeg and allspice along with malt and pumpkin. Finishes up spicy with notes of pepper.

Poured a darker hazy orange color with a fluffy white head. Aroma was of pumpkin and a bit of spice. The flavor was the same with a little malt and caramel thrown in. Not bad.
