COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jaw-Jacker balances our finest malted barley with a bit-o-wheat and is complimented with a citrus hop kick and just the right amount of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice for a nice marriage of pumpkin pie and beer. Made in the fall to celebrate the changing of the season.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2007 Bottle: Great aroma of ginger, nutmeg, and cinnamon. This is about a close as you’re going to get for duplicating a pumpkin pie aroma. It pours a slightly hazy orange with a minimal off-white head that fades quickly to a ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with a light sweet caramel maltiness. All the pumpkin pie spice comes in the finish. Great combination of nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon with the slightest hint of grassy bitterness. I’ll be surprised if anyone scores this as well as me, but I like pumpkin beers and this is as good as I’ve had for a non-Imperial pumpkin beer.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2007 On-tap, served in a imperial pint glass. The ABV is 6%. "No pumpkins were harmed" in the brewing process, this is a spice/herb ale. Poured a slightly hazy orangey amber with visible sediment, creamy white head, good retention, light amount of ringed sticking. A fall seasonal nose, allspice and clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, malted wheat, toasted grainy malts, a subtle citrus at the edges. I like the taste of this, a pleasant balance of spices, malts and citrus hops. Dry flakey pie crust-like malts, baking allspice that is sweeten by cinnamon and nutmeg. The malted wheat meshes with citrus hops for a unique sweet and sourness. The alcohol is barely noticeable, just a brief flash in the taste towards the end, warming in the back of the palate. Finishes dry, spicy soft baked pie crust covered with lemon zest. Jaw-Jacker is a good seasonal ale from Arcadia, a unique blend of spices, hops and malted wheat. There is no pumpkin used in this, yes, I know, it seems surprising, but email Arcadia yourself if you don’t believe me.

Tried today from Tim’s beer rep. Actually quite nice for a pumpkin ale (with no pumpkin). Very nice balance of flavor. Most pumpkin ales I find to be very seltzery and off in the spice flavor. This is very nice and should be well commended. Tim has done a nice thing with this beer.

The aroma is malty, but sweet and spicy like the fall should smell. The color is a beautiful orange amber. There is a malty aftertaste that is slightly sweet and a little bit too much allspice. But overall it was enjoyed.

Translucent dark amber color. Thick, creamy, sandy colored head. Heavily carbonated. Had to pause after pouring half of this and wait a couple of minutes for the massive head to diminish before pouring the rest of the bottle. Excellent retention and great lacing. The allspice and nutmeg dominate the nose. Very nice level of sweet underlying malt smell. Light yeasty notes. The taste is totally sweet-malt based with spicy pumpkin flavors. Once again the allspice and nutmeg dominate, but the cinammon makes a light showing on the back end. Nice caramely edge to this one. Medium bodied, creamy and smooth make this feel very nice. An easy to drink (and enjoy) festive ale here. A good representation of the style.

Strong aroma of pumpkin pie spics, brown sugar, just what I would expect from this style of beer. The flavor hints at cinnamon and nutmeg, with a solid bready malt backbone. Very little hops. Above average pumpkin beer.

#3,500. Bottle from Capone’s. Turbid deep copper pour with 1-finger whitish head. Aroma of huge pumpkin spice, cinnamon, plus caramel malt and nutmeg. Tastes caramel malty, with the flavor of pumpkin pie + the crust, and the applicable spices to go with it. Medium palate heft, with a smooth finish. This one was nice, and kudos for another great label that is very original and season-appropriate.

12oz bottle. Aroma is malty and spicy. Hazy medium amber body with an average off-white foamy head that mostly diminished. No lacing. Flavor is close to an amber ale but with some autum spice, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon. Palate is light-medium bodied, watery, and soft carbonation. One of my favorite autum ales. Smooth and quite drinkable.

BPW #27 Served on tap at Arcadia Brewing Company. Appearance is a rich amber hue. Flavors and aromas are heavy with pumking spice, nutmeg and cinnamon predominantly. This is a nice fall beer that doesn’t taste muddle like some. The spices come through clearly and are not over done and they ride on a nice crisp mouth.

I just got this as part of a pick six at my local shop. It pours a clear dark, almost reddish brown. On the nose, you definitely get the spices listed on the bottle, very much a fall-time beer. The flavor is sweet, with a bit of sourness on the finish, but very tasty, and very balanced. I think this be at least an 85 overall. Cheers!
