COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jaw-Jacker balances our finest malted barley with a bit-o-wheat and is complimented with a citrus hop kick and just the right amount of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice for a nice marriage of pumpkin pie and beer. Made in the fall to celebrate the changing of the season.

Bottle at The Coney. Mild spice aroma. Cinnamon, allspice, and whatever else goes into pumpkin pie. Light sugary sweetness with a bit of nutty character. Medium dark amber clear with thin off-white head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Starts sweet with brown sugar and malt. Pumpkin pie spices. Neutral fruit with nutty finish. Mild hoppy and nutty after. A decent pumpkin beer.

Hazy amber body, thin-medium off-white head. Light, spicy aroma featuring nutmeg and cinnamon, and I suppose allspice too, if I could pick that one out. The spices present somewhat harshly in the body, which does thankfully exhibit a bready malt backbone, especially evident as the beer warms up a bit. It’s OK but there are so many of these beers on the market now, it is hard to separate from the pack.

Amber colored with small, mostly diminishing head. Sweet caramel malt aroma with subtle cinnamon and ginger spiciness. Spicy flavor, with nutmeg and more ginger. Mildly bitter finish with grainy wheat notes. Flavor quickly wane, leaving behind only a wet grainy aftertaste.

Hazy dark orange and copper with a lightly off white head. The aroma had some spicy nutmeg and cinnamon. The pumpkin smell was light with some apples. The taste is definite pumpkin rind with some nutmeg. There is also a little bit of cinnamon. Good for those that like more pumpkin in their pumpkin ale.

Pours amber brown with a light tan head. Nose of spice and malt. Taste was heavy spice, caramel malt, and strong citrus hoppiness, but not a lot of pumpkin pie. Finish was malty. If I tasted pumpkin, it was uncooked pumpkin. It’s good, but it’s not like the rest of the pumpkin ales out there.

12oz bottle: Crystal clear amber pour with a thinnish tan head. The nose is nicely balanced with the pie spices playing off the caramel sweetness of the malt. The body drinks like a lager, thin and refreshing, with notes of cinnamon, caramalized pumpkin and nutmeg. Finishes a bit chalky on the back of the tongue. A well balanced, drinkable brew but not something that is going to keep you warm during the cold months.

Not much to speak of in terms of aroma, the spices seem muddled, they are there, but muddled... Good flavor, a bit spicier than some other pumpkins, but quite a bit thinner... I think it might be too spicy for its body, but it tastes good....

Thin, dissapating head. golden, light amber, honey colour. Pretty enough. Smells of sweet malt and pumpkin pie spices, not so much pumpkin. A good medium-full body. Taste of pumpkin pie spices, no pumpkin and slight hop bitterness. Did I mention the spices? Clove in particular. Overall, it’s a typical pumpkin (pie) beer. Forgettable.

9/27/2007: Allspice and a trace of nutmeg dominate the aroma of . Its appearance is a clear Autumn-like color (amberish) with a thin, off-white crown. A good malty base has a layer of spice that sticks to the roof of the mouth and creates a film there. There is lots of cinnamon and nutmeg in the flavor, but the beer actually smells spicier than it tastes. It also has a medium-body and a powdery texture. This is really a spiced beer as no pumpkin is detectable in either the aroma or flavor. All summed up, it’s okay.

12 fl. oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99. Thanks Tom! Rating #66 for this beer.

Pours a hazy light orange-brown with tiny suspended particles and a frothy, beige head. The aroma is fairly muted, but it reminds me of pumpkin bread or pie without the pumpkin itself: allspice, nutmeg and faint cinnamon. Light to medium bodied and slick with tongue-tickling carbonation it finishes slightly dry. The flavor is a sweet malty front followed by a strong hit of spice that completely takes over from there: allspice up front, with a light cinnamon following and nutmeg taking over for the finish and aftertaste. Fairly dry at the end. This isn’t a bad beer, but drinking one is plenty unless you are really into heavily spiced beers. I like the idea behind the concept, but IMO he spice blend simply overpowers the malt backing of this one.
