COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jaw-Jacker balances our finest malted barley with a bit-o-wheat and is complimented with a citrus hop kick and just the right amount of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice for a nice marriage of pumpkin pie and beer. Made in the fall to celebrate the changing of the season.

12 oz bottle. Deep orange-amber beer quite cloudy with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly spicy. Some clove, nutmeg and allspice in the nose. There is a soft malty backnote as well. A bit of lightly toffeeish sweetness and a bit of cherryish yeasty fruitiness. Sort of a spice English ale. It’s a bit different from other pumpkin beers and I quite like it.

Well done earthy pumpkin and spice aroma and taste. Big biscuity malt blends well with spices, and finishes with astringency.

For some reason this year I have felt the need to try Pumpkin beers. I thought This would be a pumpkin beer. However, after tasting it, is a a good ale... with a little too much spice. The pour is cloudy amber, with a small whitish head. the Aroma is sweat malt, clover and nutmeg. The beer lingers a bit on the pallate, and the flavor is pretty much over powered by the spices. An ok beer.

It poured a hazy dark orange color with a small off-white head. The aroma was spicy nutmeg and cinnamon. The taste was definitely pumpkin rind with some nutmeg. There is also a hint of cinnamon. A very good pumpkin ale.

12oz bottle. Pours a nice clear orangish amber color with a long-lasting off-white head. The aroma has big pumpkin pie spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, with a bit of sweet caramel malt. Flavor is like a pumpkin ale that’s a bit overspiced and doesn’t have any pumpkin. Caramel malt and big spiced notes, with lots of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. I don’t like the mouthfeel much, as the spices linger a little more than I’d like and it’s a bit thin. Mediocre overall.

Bottle from craft beer outlet. Smells and tastes of spices, but not too much pumpkin. Pretty good, not great.

Pours a nice orange amber with no head. Smells more of pumpkin or pumpkin pie than straight spices. Tastes much the same. Smooth finish and pretty decent.

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2011 12 ounce bottle, no bottle date but most likely from this season. Pours very hazy golden orange color with a fairly dense 1-2 fingers of off white head with nice retention that reduces to a thin lacing cap. Aromas of big cinnamon, clove, pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, caramel, and a bit of citrus. Decent aromas here, but there seems to be an odd medicinal aroma as well. Taste of big spiciness, clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon up front; with some caramel and sweetness near the finish. Not much bitterness on the finish; but notes of big spices, pepper, clove, and cinnamon linger on the finish. Medium bodied with fairly high carbonation; with a bit of a creamy moutfeel and smooth drinkability despite the carbonation level. No alcohol noticed other than a slight warming after the finish. Overall this is actually quite good for a spiced ale. Good balance of spices and sweetness, and I definitely enjoyed this.

Strong aroma of pumpkin pie spics, brown sugar, just what I would expect from this style of beer. The flavor hints at cinnamon and nutmeg, with a solid bready malt backbone. Very little hops. Above average pumpkin beer.

12oz bottle poured into snifter. Hazy brown color with a thin off white head, thin and lacy. Aroma has a nice pumpkin pie scent to it with a nice hint of vanilla. Flavor is very sub par, very little pumpkin flavor. Only got a little on the back end.
