Odin (123), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA Mar 22, 2002 Hell of a good bitter. I’m not a big fan of bitter beer in general, but this one is well worth trying. Only had it off the tap though so I can’t stand up for the bottle. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jul 18, 2005 Unfiltered hazy bronze with some sediment in the glass. Smells like a dunkelweizen, inferred from the cloves, cinnamon and chocolate malt balls wafting towards my nose. Very flavorful and surprisingly delicious. Brisk and sweet caramel joins a rich, toasty complexin the company of honey roasted peanuts. A little bit of a copper kettle twang (which is a good thing for me.) Sweet and heavy for the style. Very well-executed balance with gentle carbonation. Finishes like a caramel macchiato. Nice. LuckeyHaskins99 (180), Toledo, Ohio, USA Feb 18, 2002 Okayu, so I like bitter beer, and I’m partial to Midwestern Microbrews.... This is a beer that I know no onwe will touch in my fridge..... Bitter aftertast (What do you expect) full nose, very smooth drinking and filling. Keep your peanuts at home, this stuff is fine all by itself. Terminus (1955), Illinois, USA Feb 25, 2002 good beer, but my appearance was a little questionable. My bottle had chunks in it after i poured it. It may have been sitting on a shelf for a while, but the taste was very good. more subtle than most ESB’s, more like a pale ale olympian (107), USA Jul 9, 2002 Good take on English style bitter.
More reserved in most characteristics than it’s more famous British counterparts, but
nice drinking, nonetheless. Beautiful beer in the glass. One of Arcadias better products.
