COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Step into the Scottish Highlands with this authentic Strong Scotch Ale. A lovely and deep garnet color is joined by the aroma of plums and toffee in this unique and special ale. Brewed with Maris Otter malted barley from Crisp Maltings, Ltd. in England, the rich and full-bodied feel of this beer brings out flavors of caramel and roasted chestnuts, which is balanced with a clean and crisp alcohol finish, and just the right amount of lingering hop bitterness. A real treat!

Poured as promised a garnet color, not much carbonation and absolutely no head. Crisp taste with the malt and hops. A bit thin for me. After taste was OK. Thanks to my Buddy Travelin’ Dave for bringing this back to me!

Bottle. Pours a dark brown cola color with a scant trace of a head. Ripe fruit, raisin and alcohol aroma. Earthy, malty initial flavor with hints of nuts and caramel. Finishes with a mixture of smoke and alcohol. Below average carbonation with a semi-dry texture. Good, but a little more care could make this great.

Pours clear dark brown with a small diminishing creamy head. Very light aroma of caramel with a light smoaky toasted malt. Decent balancing, but alcohol presence could be better balanced.

12oz bottle from Party Source. Bottled 11/05/12. ABV labeled 8%. Very dark but clear red / brown color. Thin khaki head, mostly just around the edge. Little, loose lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, crisp, lighter carbonation. Some light chocolate syrup in the nose. Nice lighter smoke, some peat. Good earthy hops. Some raisin. Mostly bitter taste. Decent scotch ale.

The aroma of this beer is quite subtle with hints of toffee and roasted malts, and the appearance is a coffee brown that barely any light passes through with nearly no head. The taste is quite umami, slightly sweet, and slightly sour; the palate combines a soft carbonation, oily texture, full body, and a long finish.

Sampled at the W&C Ballas open house. It poured a brown color with an off-white head. The aroma was of sweet caramel, fruity, earthy, with a touch of smoke. The taste was sweet, with a bit of chocolate, light roast, earthy and peaty smoke.

Dark translucent ruby brown with a half inch of off-brown head. Brown sugar aroma with cola notes. Taste is the same with worty treacle notes, ending in moderate, but persistent hop bitterness. $2/22oz

Thanks Mike. Enjoyed in a wine glass. Poured a pretty dark 1 finger head faded to a thin layer. Smells of a bit of whiskey, sweet corn, amber malts and a hint of smoke. I get a currants note and pretty much taste matches exactly what I get on the nose. Very simple sort of disappointing beer.

This bottle came from Strykzone. Poured a garnet color with a tan head and good lacing. Nose of roasted malts and ripe fruit. Medium plus in body and a smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is rich and shows some raisins and ripe fruit. Some hops appear. Some bitterness in the finish. A quite decent beer.
