COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Smoked Porter is a robust London style porter with a deep chocolate/ruby color and the subtle accent of hardwood smoked malt. This distinctive beer is brewed using no less than seven different varieties of premium European malted barley, resulting in a complex and full bodied beer characterized by hints of chocolate, coffee, caramel and beechwood smoke. The big malty finish to this beer is balanced by a solid hop bitterness and the refined English aroma and flavor of premium Goldings finishing hops.

A solid London style porter. Good malt body with very heavy toasty malts. Bit much aroma or head. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Not sure why this porter is smoked - not typical of British porter. At least not in this century. Good but overwrought.

Pours black with a medium mocha head. Aroma has lots of roastiness, some peat, tobacco, hint of dark fruit. Flavor is roasty with tobacco and peat. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with a roasty/peaty finish...touch of band aid.

Pours very brown but quite black. Tan head fades rather quickly. Very smokey aroma, with coffee and chocolate as well. I also notice some licorice undertones. Taste is rich. Still very smoky with mostly coffee. Chocolate is underneath. Medium bodied with an oily texture. Aftertaste is smoky as anticipated. As I usually enjoy efforts like this one, I was happy to drink this.

Pours a deep burnt black umber color with a two finger mocha colored foam... rich deep aromas of burnt chocolate, old campfire, roasted malts and coffee. On the palate its rich and agressive as well with deep dark notes that balance each other nicely... touches of sweet chocolate fall into a dark coffee smokey finish that is kissed with a fresh bitterness to linger....leather, grass.

S: Coffee beans, light presence of dark chocolate - pretty toasty A: Pours thin for the color, black. Foamy washed out mocha head - 1.5 finger. T: Roasted coffee beens and less of bitter chocolate, caramel malts in the background P: Medium with active carbonation - gets better when it warms O: Pretty average stout, but very drinkable
