Black with brown head. Aroma is a little smokey roast coffee. Taste is upfront smoke and bitter coffee. Some slight sweet chocolate. A very nice beer that would go well with a steak in the winter.

Chocolate and roasted malts dominate the aroma. A beautiful brown head held steady for a few minutes atop the deep brown ale. Its taste is a hint of sweetness followed by medium bitterness, but not too bitter to upset the balance. Well bodied for an English Porter, the texture is slick, carbonation is average, and finish is long. London Porter is well done, and worth a try if you can find it.

Aroma is OK with hints of leather, chocolate, toffee and cocoa. Appearance is a black mahogany with about a finger head that dissipated with a quickness.
Tastes like chewing tobacco; was bummed I wasted money on such a sub-par offering.

Appearance is sasparilla brown topped with a root beer float head. Smoky nose, some soot and roasty smoked malt and black patent accents. Sweet smoked meet flavors, beef jerky, molasses and moderately salty body. Definitely not in the same vein of "London-styled porter" as Fullers.

Celebrate the 4th with barbeque...beer. Even better, this style is stolen wholesale from the English. Heavy smoke aroma like brown sugar poured on oak briquettes. Thick motor oil feel, and looks it too. Tastes like soy and molasses marinade, only with some hops. Aftertaste is a bit much. This one is good, but not in quantity. Is it just me or are American porters tending towards smoked beers.

Had this one bottled, thanks Arnie! Delicious soy sauce and sweet barbeque sauce, finishes strong and quite alcoholic.

Bottle- Pours a deep brown color with a decent head that fades slowly to nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malty, coffee some dark chocolate and dark fruits with a hint of smoke. Taste of roasted malt, semi-sweet chocolate and dark fruit. There is a bit of smoke in the background with a nice bitterness and a clean finish. Medium body, smooth and creamy with a bit of lingering bitterness aftertaste. No hint of the 7.2% ABV. Nice English Porter that goes down easy. Good for the style.

Mmm, this is all smoky, malty, hoppy goodness. Hints of chocolate and molasses under heavy char with a mildly bitter finish.

Cask. Warmer and flat. A spectacular porter. Nice fruity yeast tones, rich cocoa abundance, just a world class porter.
