COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This English-style brown ale has an alluring mahogany color capped by a rich foam head. It is brewed with six different varieties of premium malted barley, creating a robust body and delicious flavor profile featuring hints of chocolate, raisins, dates and almonds. Its ripe fruit notes and malty, sweet finish are counterbalanced by a subtle hop bitterness and aroma.

Bottle. The head was small in size, ivory, creamy and smooth with fine-medium sized bubbles that mostly diminished. The body was mostly opaque, some carbonation and a brown hue. The nose was malty and caramel and the flavor was sweet, malty, caramel, lightly bitter and some chocolate notes. This beer had a slight aftertaste to it. The mouthfeel was tingly and the lacing was fair.

This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of finely sized off-white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a fair lace. The body is a dark brown color with no visible carbonation and almost opaque. The aroma is a very nice dark brown beer malt. The mouth feel is malty with a mild malty finish with only a few brown beer notes to it. The flavor is smooth and even with sweet malt and a mild acidic finish.

Pours fiery red-brown, with a creamy light tan head. Sour, nutty aroma. Flavor begins somewhat sour, with nutty and tangy malts mingling with hints of chocolate. Finishes in classic Arcadia style with earthy English hops taking over the palate.

Dark appearance, with sweet vanilla and caramel aromas. A good brown ale, sweeter than most, with a sweet, hoppy, metallic tasting finish. Though I'm not a fan of browns, I can say that this hits the mark.

Dark amber from the tap in Battle Creek. Dusty grain sweetness in the nose. Sweet caramel flavors with an astringent strength to it. Nice average session beer.

deep brown color with a thin light beige head..big fat bubbles. aroma is mostly chocolate with a little alcohol. one of the few browns that i would say isnt really all that nutty. slightly roasted malts dominate this beer in my opinion.

Tap. Pours a drab brown but has some lighter tan/red tinges. Quite clear. Small off-white head that lasts. Huge amounts of lacing. Starts with a good light caramel malt which develops into a medium-light body with some nice drier hops flavor. The finish has a nutty/roasty flavor that is quite dry as well and mildly bitter. Alcohol is barely perceptible, though there is a touch of something possibly metallic. Overall a great balance, just not quite as much complexity as I'm looking for compared to some of the best browns I've had. The malt is very subtle and gets pushed around by the hops and dry, nutty, raisin-walnut flavor. As I finish, I swear there is a hint of citrus hops towards the finish. Maybe not quite citrus, but a tart fruitiness, that seems a bit out of place with a nut brown ale. Aroma is of dry roasted malt and maybe some maple/walnut type aroma; like a waffle with syrup on it. Carbonation was not a problem.
