Dark brown color. Some chocolate raisin tones in the nose. Doesn't really follow through in the flavor. Mostly a thin tart grape with a short bitter finish.

Decent ale, but not excellent. I tasted nutty flavor. Sour bitterness on the finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark red appearance. Light coffee in the nose. Body is spritzy with light coffee and chocolate notes. Finishes roastily hopped. On Real Ale this beer is a little more assertive and smooth. More chocolate is evident and more hops shine through in the finish. My girlfriend loved the normal version of this beer and hated the real ale version. Hmmm.

As the glass approaches your face, there is no doubt you are about to drink a nut brown! The nutty aroma is very powerful! The color is a little more amber than most nut-browns. The flavor is right on with the aroma - very nutty.

Part of and Arcadia sampler: This was a pretty good nut brown, poured a dark brownish-amber with virtually no head or lacing. Strong nut aroma. Flavor was not very rich but was nutty with some malt. Lightly bitter and nutty finish. A better-than-average brew.

Quite good! Great carbonation lending a hand to the tart/nut/sweet/sour malt business. I liked it.
