Commercial Description:
Our Nut Brown Ale is a full bodied English-style brown ale with a deep mahogany color. We use six different types of premium malted barley to create a flavor that includes hints of chocolate, raisins, dates and almonds. The malty sweet finish is balanced by a smooth bitterness and a subtle fruitiness in flavor and hop aroma.

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours bronze with a decent tan head. Aroma of caramel malts, nuts, and toast. The flavor is sweet, caramel, nuts, with a thin bodied.

Light aroma of sweet malts. Dark amber with intially large but quickly fading white head. Starts malty ending with a good nut brown style hop bite. Alittle watery.

Poured brown/chocolate/ruby; with a minimal head. Aroma was pretty unappealing; some sweetness and nutty flavor. A little medicinal smelling. Flavor was about the same, except for a more pronounced chocolate and dark fruit flavor. Body was light, and watery. Pretty bland and unimpressive.

pretty sure we got a bad batch of this. looked like melted chocolate when poured. taste was less than spectacular. smells of nuts and looks brown - hence the name.

Arcadia Nut Brown Ale 12 oz bottle Unknown brewing, notched F3, nutted 02/03. Medium pour in an English pint. Poured a hazy reddish brown with a medium off white fizzy somewhat lasting head. Smelt of strong roasted nuts, light caramel. Taste was upfront moderate sweet and bitter caramel, nuts and light grassiness followed by a moderate sweet cookie taste and light bitter grass hops on an average length finish. Palate was light to medium bodied, fizzy, oily and lightly astringent. Overall, nothing special happening here. Just a sweet light brown ale. Refreshing though.

Bottle from Horrocks in Battle Creek, MI. Pours a clear burnt orange with an off white head. Lovely full nose of nuts, chocolate, malts and black cherries. Oak in the taste with a nut dominance. Hints of dark berries and chocolate. Slight bitterness. What a lovely little gem from the city that brings us such wonders as Tony the Tiger.
