2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Light brown. Thick head. Drinkable. Not very nutty. Hints of raisen. Average body. I expect more from Arcadia, and I expect more from nut beers.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
355ml bottle. Dark brown pour, quickly receding head. The smell is light and malty, hints of caramel and nuts, but mostly english yeast character. Flavor is fuller, it has dark fruits, light nuttiness, really easy to drink. The beer is just too subdued, a good beer to hand someone who claims they don’t like dark beer.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle thnx to hopscotch, cheers! Pours a clear brown beer with a small off white head on top that disappears really quick. Aroma is very malty, light chocolate and bready. Flavor is fairly bitter, some chocolate and roast coffee. Really subtle flavors making this easy to drink but not the greatest beer ever. Still decent though.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
Not very consistent from bottle to bottle. Some have been over carbonated. Some taste like a bad walnut. Some are just ok.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle from Giant Eagle on Route 8 in Pittsburgh. This one left a bitter and sour taste in my mouth. Should have been smoother and a bit sweeter. Not on my list for a better brown.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a darker brown with a hint of red. Nutty caramel malt scent. Taste is caramel malt, toasted grain, light nuts and some unexpected hoppiness with a light bitter finish. A bit thin bodied, but not bad.

1.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Explodes in the mouth with a fizzy carbonation that is far too much for me. Pouring doesn’t seem to do much to rid this brew of excess carbonation...it doesn’t pour with much head, yet there is too much fizz in my mouth when I sip it. I like the aroma: malty with tones of caramel, vanilla, and various fruits. Almost citrusy finish, leaving a strong bitter aftertaste. I find the bitterness unpleasant. No discernable roast in the aroma. Seriously, the carbonation in this is out of control...it leaves me feeling like I’m foaming at the mouth and seriously detracts from my enjoyment of this brew. Also leaves a very heavy aftertaste that I found unenjoyable. Too sweet. I would greatly appreciate a drier beer, with less carbonation. Overall poor and I would not drink it again; would even prefer a light or macro brew beer. Drain pour.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Has an opaque brown color. A little sour, but not a lot of flavor. Maybe a hint of nut, very little caramel malts. Disappointing.

Not a bad brown ale. Nutty, caramel, subtle chocolate, and dark fruit. Medium bodied, thick head and rich.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: APR 8, 2014 Bottle: Deep, ruby-red and brown with clarity around the edges; off-white head fades rather quickly to a puny ring around the glass. Aroma is caramel malt, toffee, some burnt brown sugar, and lots of roast. Taste has a very nutty essence, touches of cocoa powder, roasted wood chips - not smoky, but more earthy, nutty, woodsy. Small hop profile; very mild herbal, tea-like hop leaves in the finish... dry, with a bit of orange zest even. Grape flavored sweetness in the aftertaste? More caramel, too. Not bad, just kind of all over the place. Not as coherent as many brown ales, decent.
