bhensonb (4234), Woodland, California, USA Nov 19, 2009 Bomber. Beautiful orange pour with a frothy, clingy white head. Aroma is mainly citrus. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Lots of fruity hop, and spicey malt underlaying that. It’s very delicious, and the rye really comes out as the hop washes away. Little hot bits pop up. This finishes very floral/fruity, and it’s just excellent. The rye note is everpresent. Love this stuff. kwoeltje (1314), Manchester, Missouri, USA Oct 26, 2009 (draught) Light gold/amber with small head. Citrus aroma. Flavor is citrus hops, some rye and malt. RCL (1453), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Oct 14, 2009 Fairly light in color as rye beers go. Hoppy, citrus nose. Clean, pine-sol like spicy flavor (in a good way). Interesting take on the style. travita (1887), Frisco, Texas, USA Oct 12, 2009 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. The smell is rye, malts, hops, pine, fruits, and caramel. The look is golden in color and whiitish head. The taste is ok in bitterness, nice rye, pine, and hops. angrypirate06 (706), Texas, USA Sep 28, 2009 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Clear orange pour. Aroma is rye and some soap. Flavor is astringent and somewhat yeasty. Kinda bland. JMerritt (1315), Macomb, Illinois, USA Sep 27, 2009 Sampled at 2009 WIU Performing Arts Society Beerfest. Cloudy, yellowish amber with a small white head. Mild caramel malt nose with a little sour grain/wheat. Flavor: light caramel and toffee, some very light citrus. Didn’t pick up any rye at all, really. Too carbonated to boot. CaptainCougar (5396), Rockville, Maryland, USA Sep 20, 2009 Pours a transparent orange golden with a spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasty pale malts and a touch of rye with a good dose of grapefruity hops. Starts with good fullness and malty sweetness with a nice rye character and good fresh hop balance with a hint of orange. Finishes crisp and bittersweet. A nice hoppy rye ale. mar (1760), Dallas, Texas, USA Sep 19, 2009 bottle thanks to bu11zeye. aber with a cream head. nose is light rye with vanilla. nice on the palate with a rye flavor that’s a little bitter in the finish.
