COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In honor of our adventurous friends at Sky Dive Inc. in Hastings, Michigan, we crafted a truly adventurous brew in Sky High Rye. A West Coast-style Pale Ale with rye malt, Sky High Rye boasts a massive floral aroma of resinous hops. The hops contribute flavor notes of lemons, peaches, and pine needles, combined with the sweet, malty flavors of toffee and bread. Rye adds a pleasant peppery, spicy note like a fresh slice of pumpernickel bread. Very well-rounded and very drinkable, Sky High Rye will surely inspire adventure in all who taste it.

Slight tartness, griany, but some hops in there. Wouldnt call it an ipa but it is tasty.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2013 Oct 2012: Draft at Khyber Pass. Medium gold amber pour with a foamy head. Strong floral and grassy notes. Fuller body than one would expect. Probably the best blended rye beer I have had. Somehow bold and gentle at the same time. The rye is very much up front yet is not harsh and blends seamlessly into what feels like a hoppy blond ale beneath. Quite nice. Update: Having again in April 2013. Draft at Moriartys. Noting that the beer shines as yellow from the bottom of a pint glass. Taste is maybe just a bit sharper (and less smooth) than it was last time. Still an excellently made rye beer.

Blonde in color with an incredibly frothy. Tangy, lemons really stand out, slightly sour. Okay smell, prepares me for a far more sour smell then I picked up. Pretty good. I do not think I would revisit this.

good mild smell; weak compared to others. Looks like a wit when poured. Flavors does not come through strong, like other rye pales. No hop aftertaste. A nice tasting beer, but not for the style.

Bottle to pint. Looks solid; golden with LOTS of carbonation and sticky white head that sticks around for awhile. Smells of hops and rye. Tastes like it smells with nice balance and a pleasant hop profile. Average on the palate. Good beer.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2012 Hazy orange pour, little white head. Bitter piney scent, a little sweet citrus as well. Medium carbonation. Bitey hop flavor, some lactose as well. Dry finish, little more bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a somewhat cloudy orange-yellow color with a little head. Aroma is spicy rye, lemons, peaches, and flowers. Taste is slightly sweet and spicy at first, strong bitterness in the middle and a very dry finish. Fairly complex for a Rye PA with the citrus, fruit, flowers, and some pine too. Too dry in the finish but a nice flavor overall. And I like that its available in cans.

Pours a clear pale yellow with a medium sized white head. Aroma of pale malt, bread, rye and light pine. Flavor of rye, grapefruit and bread. Pretty good.
