Had this one bottled, thanks Jim! I don’t have much experience with rye ales but this one had a very nice hoppy spiciness that was greatly enhanced by the addition of herby rye, had a crisp, dry finish. This is a keeper, and I would be interested to try others rye ales.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Terminus (2616) - Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA - JUN 13, 2011
bottle and tap-this was a tap sample at the stable in St Louis, MO FEB 2011
pours light orange with a nice soapy 1/8 inch head. very nice looking in the glass-clear with vibrant light shining through. lite citrus nose with alot of floral flower aspects-tangerine, grapes, lite pineapple, and honeysuckle. the tap sample i had must have been a bit old but still was decent. in previous fresh samples, this beer jumped with lots of floral flavors, lite pine, with alot of citrus on the finish. however, this sample had a touch of diacytl in noticed when it got warmer. lots of tropical hop flavors here with a lite malt base showing the dry rye. very nice lacing going on the whole way down the glass. if this had no diacytl, this would be world class, especially in this category. love the long grapefruit finish.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BroSpud (1177) - , Massachusetts, USA - JUN 10, 2011
12oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden with very little head. Predominant taste is the citrus from the hops. Very subtle rye. Overall very light and refreshing and quite drinkable.

Medium gold colored body with a slight haze. There was a thin slightly off white head. The nose was rich grapefruit with a little bit of pine. There was also some bread dough and a little bit of the rye spice. The taste is rich grapefruit mixed with the spicy rye. This is like drinking a glass of grapefruit juice along with some rye bread. There is a little nutty hint. The body is slick and a little greasy. There is a salty hint.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2011 I love this beer. I enjoy grapefruit/citrus hops the most, and this one delivers that. Nice hops bitterness....not much hint of rye really. I’d call this more an IPA than anything else. Will definitely keep this one on my list of favorites. Would be a great session beer.

Bomber. Murky peach color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is fruity sweet with a strong rye presence. Flavor starts sweet caramel followed by rye and citrus with a lingering, dry grapefruit bitter finish. Medium body is tangy with moderate carbonation. Nice.

Sampled from bottle. Poured a amber color with a small white head. Aroma was hops, rye, malts. Flavor was rye heavy, with notes of mild citrus hops and a pretty decent malts. Good rye beer here.

I’m not normally a fan of hoppy ales, but this one is surprisingly refreshing in spite of a long bitter finish. Pours golden, small head, no lace. Taste of rye and light grains; slight maltiness, which is quickly covered by the bitterness of the hops.
