In honor of our adventurous friends at Sky Dive Inc. in Hastings, Michigan, we crafted a truly adventurous brew in Sky High Rye. A West Coast-style Pale Ale with rye malt, Sky High Rye boasts a massive floral aroma of resinous hops. The hops contribute flavor notes of lemons, peaches, and pine needles, combined with the sweet, malty flavors of toffee and bread. Rye adds a pleasant peppery, spicy note like a fresh slice of pumpernickel bread. Very well-rounded and very drinkable, Sky High Rye will surely inspire adventure in all who taste it.
This West Coast-style Pale Ale is brewed with eighty percent English barley malts and twenty percent rye malt. It boasts a massive floral aroma of resinous hops, contributing notes of lemons, peaches and pine needles and is anchored by the sweet malty flavors of toffee and freshly baked pumpernickel bread.

pours hazy if not cloudy light yellow with a frothy and creamy - abnormal - white head, excellent retention and strong lacing. lean very spicy maltiness, citrus flowers, pepper, grass, slightly vinous - white wine-ish, carbonnic acid, white grape juice. lively carbonation - foamingly disturbing, light body - oily, assertive grassy-citrusy-herbal-piney-peppery finish. i’m guessing this would be pretty nice w/o infection.

12oz can shared, pours a medium hazy yellow color with a white head. Nice malty sweet aroma. Very pleasant. The flavor is surprisingly good. Very smooth with a nice rye spice kick on the end. Nice citrus to peach in the middle. Overall very good beer. Can drink this one again.

Sample at the Big Tap In on 05/31/2014. Hazy copper-golden color with a medium foamy off-white head that diminishes steadily. Strings of lacing. Aroma of floral hops, fruit and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of grassy hops, citrus and roast malt. The finish is herbal hops and mildly spicy rye. Decent overall.

This is really not good at all. Overally carbonated, leaves a fizzy finish. Too sweet, hops barely detectable. Faint rye. Tastes like a carbonated grapefruit juice.

Pours a yellowish golden with a medium white head. The aroma consists of pine, grapefruit, rye, herbal hops, and some orange undertones. Of these, the grapefruit and rye are most prevalent. The taste is quite bitter. It loses the piney impressions, but gathers momentum with lots of grapefruit. Rye, lemon, and very mild orange are found as well. This one is light to medium in body, slick in texture, while being above average in the carbonation department. Not bad here.

Aroma is sweet, light rye, light hops. Appearance is golden yellow, not what I was expecting from a Rye. Taste is meh, sweet, light rye, not too great. Mouthfeel is carbonated, not really hanging around. Overall...I think I just have a thing against Arcadia Ales. I really don’t want to. They are just not my thing.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a super light golden orange colored body leaving a nice foamy two finger white head, a lot of ringy light foamy lacing appears. The body is too hazy for any carbonation to be seen. The smell had hops and rye up front with some nice citrus in the background. The taste was pretty much the same with a super nice sweet spicy aftertaste. On the palate, it sat at/about a light to medium with nothing harsh on the tongue. A bit of a dry finish and a pretty drinkable beer. Overall, I’m quite impressed, "rye beers" are growing on me. However, I will say this because of the hops and citrus coming is as they do, this could be borderline IPA, perhaps. No worries, I would still have this again.
