5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Look for the new label. Pouring a golden color edging into orangeness with a light white head and light lacing to match, this is one big mouthful of pepper and peach. It’s rich, it’s bright, it’s happily carbonated, it’s got some citrus in it from those grapefruity hops, and nicely dry on the palate thanks to all that rye-ey goodness.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Served in a pint glass on tap. One finger head that didn’t last. Very low viscosity with little to no lacing. Smell is faintly characteristic of hops and fruit but alarmingly it smells a bit like a light beer with a touch of alcohol coming through. As for the taste, it is much like a light beer upon the first few sips but after more careful evaluation, the tones listed in it’s description come through. Most notably a piny bite begins as soon as the beer traverses the back of the tongue. The beginning is generally tasteless like a light beer however the finish is piny, citrusy, and even sweet with no taste left behind. The mouthfeel is watery which explains a non lingering finish, lack of lacing, and why I connect this beer to a big name light beer. Overall this ipa may be good for someone wanting to stop drinking domestic lights and start drinking craft however this is not my first choice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark reddish pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, orange peel, grapefruit, hints of spice, rye, toast, some earth. Taste was a mix of orange, rye, spice, toast into toffee, bread, some pine, finishing bitter.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Good aromas of citrus and hops, more fuity than I expected.
Leaves lacing after a 1 in head, nice foam. Gets thin quickly but lingers through out the glass.
Spicy rye with good malt and hop blend...very nice flavor
with a little grapefruit bitterness in the finish---very flavorful all the way to the end. So far, my favorite rye IPA by far.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft in a flight at HalfCut. Pours a cloudy pale gold - lighter than expected - with a white head that settles into a ring and film while lacing the glass. Rye up front, with straw, grass, citrus zest (mostly lemon), and pale and crackery malts. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a bitter, malty mouthfeel. Not bad, just nothing special or that I’d feel like ordering again.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle from notes. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have caramel, toasted bread, some spicy rye character, mild to moderate citrus and earthy notes, decent but unexciting beer. Available and decent enough, but I have not revisited the beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: pours orange with a white head. Aroma is rye malt, pine, and resin, and some underlying fruitiness. Taste is quite bitter, but there is also a definite smoothness to it. Aftertaste is long and lingering. Quite resinous. Pine there more than fruit. Good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can shared with Goetz. Purchased at Sicilianos in GR. really nice beer. My favorite of the evening bouts a slightly reddish copper with one finger of white head. Aroma is malty pine. Really nice beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured into a perfect pint.
4.0 A: Moderately hazed yellow orange color. Two fingers of frothy off-white head. Retention is about average and a good sized ring of lacing is left.
4.0 S: The rye in this is potent and pleasurable. Earthy and spicy, it gives its distinct aroma. Flowery and herbal hops underneath. A touch of yeast and a moderate neutral malt sweetness.
4.0 T: Tastes as good as it smells. Pretty much the same flavors as in the nose. Earthy, spicy rye, bready yeastiness, mild bitterness, floral and herbal hops, and neutral malt sweetness. There’s also a mild peachy fruitiness.
4.0 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Pleasantly creamy and super smooth.
4.0 D: Solid beer all around. Pick this up if you’re a fan of rye.

Can from Brooklyn
Hazy orange color, steady white head. Malty, citrus, a bit of rye in the nose. Medium-bodied. Lemony, citric, sweetish fruity hoppy flavor. A bit plasticky citrusness and alcohol in the finish,

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Light golden color with a tall, lasting cream colored head. Mild, may I say disappointing so, aromas. Hint of rye, light grass and hint of malt. Bits of orange and citrus. Not bad, just not there. Light flavors follow. No real feel from the rye. Some mild rye components mingle with pale grains and mild citrus. Obviously plenty of proteins as the head is very thick and meringue like. Seems watery and weak. 2/10
