COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Thunder Trail ESB (6.0% ABV): stays true to our English Brewing Heritage. With a strong backbone of Maris Otter and Crystal malts, this Extra Special Bitter is balanced by earthy, spicy, English hops. Our Ringwood yeast strain imparts a dis-tinctly fruity character that is accented by dry-hopping with a modest amount if Palisade hops. We hope you enjoy this quality session ale—wherever the Trail may take you.

From a bottle this has a big volatile sweet aroma. How could they say this is a session brew at 6%, more than most other esb. Yes, taste is like a cross between a esb and an ipa. What gives? Quite hoppy in a weird kind of way. So much so that it leaves a bitter medicinal aftertaste on the sides of your tongue after each swig. Not nearly as good as the refined Wychwood Hobgoblin or Wells Bombardier. Surprised its even in the same style considering the IPA or strong apa attitude. Yes needs a few manners. Nice motorcycle on the label dude.

Bottle. Pours clear red amber with a frothy beige head. Caramel malt aroma with a tartness to it. Medium body, warming mouthfeel that finishes a bit astringent. Flavour of toasty malts, a little smoke, bitter citrus peel.

Bottle. Caramel malt and pepper aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet toffee malt and lightly bitter herbal pepper flavor. Very pleasant.

Pours a hazy reddish amber with a frothy tan head. Aroma of grape, earth and musty malt. Taste is lightly sweet up front followed by a tart drying bitterness that quickly overtakes the malt. A little dry for my tastes but certainly engiish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: Slightly hazy amber-brown with a huge, light tan head. Caramel/toffee aroma......some apricot? Slight, leafy bitter...creamy, soft fruits...a bit of spice. Very enjoyable.

pours clear and bright golden orange with a nice creamy off-white head, good retention and lacing. orange and spicy earthiness, lots of fruity esters - berries, caramel and butter - nutty sweetness and toasted and sweet sourbread, brown sugar, english yeast, taste translates fruits to sour and almost rotten fruits, some metal. moderately low carboantion, light body - oily yet the finish seems more watery, assertive grassy-herbal-earthy-grapefruity finish. i enjoy my esbs cleaner and lighter sugar-wise. still.. more than decent esb - say an american interpretation..

Had from a bottle in Grand Haven MI. Pours a clear amber with a thin off white head. Aroma is hoppy. Not much malt or caramel at all. Flavor is harsh. Not smooth. Bitter. Was expecting more malt in this. Just drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

draft that poured a medium yellow orange to almost light brown color with white head. leaves great lacing on the glass. the upfront aromas of malt and hops are pleasing to the nose. the flavor is very good for an esb. not to strong on the bitter spot but just right. easy drinking and flavorful to the last.

Nice and easy summer beer. Simple with a light body with a hint of earthly smell to it. Went down easy

Hazy reddish-brown pour with a white head. The aroma is balanced with malty notes and herbal hops. It has a light, crisp body with lively carbonation. The taste is bittersweet with a mild finish.
