Commercial Description:
Arcadia Whitsun is a modern interpretation of a mid-19th century English spring and summer festival ale. It is light golden in color with a rich, creamy head, full bodied and has a lightly toasted caramel flavor. The addition of Michigan star thistle honey contributes a uniquely smooth drinkability to this unfiltered wheat ale.

Pours an amber/orange with a huge frothy ivory head and tons of floaties. This is a very dark American wheat, looking closer to a dunkelweizen. The aroma is of wheat, citrus, honey and spice (coriander perhaps?). Medium-bodied and smooth finishing slightly sour and dry. Round sour wheat, orange and light coriander. Tastes like a full-bodied sour witbier. Not great, not bad.

Very American, clean taste. A typical example of an American wheat, a little citric, but light.

Reminded me of sapient trip by Dark horse. A very light version that is. Very sweat. Black licorice with wheat.

Tap at the Muddy Pig. Clear, metallic yellow, seeming to broadcast skunk right from the start. Aroma is mostly of honey and caramel, with a distant touch of lavender and grasses, which quickly converge in a wet compost heap. Tastes a bit milky. Hints of orange. Predominantly, the honey swallows up minor indications of spicy or tart characteristics - killing the wheat unceremoniously. Eventually it’s like pure sugar. Poorly rendered.

Clear orange-amber with light, fizzy white head / Sweet, citrus nose / Light to medium body, sweet and somewhat syrupy, fizzy carbonation, with fair finish / Toasty flavors of lemon, orange, and apricot / A little overly sweet and syrupy.

Dry fruit with notes of sweet malts and sour hop aromas. Copper, hazy, with small white head. Notes of apricot, sour hops and tofee flavours. Sour, wheaty finish.

Bottle. Slightly hazy amber color with a bumpy off white head. A terrible phenolic/chemical (almost pissy) aroma polluting what seems to be some white grainy malt, apple and lemon underneath. Mildly sweet light cereal flavor with some esters, citrusy hops and grass. Strong fizzy carbonation escapes very quickly, leaving behind a flat and unattractive smelling mess in my pint. Uggh.

Apple, candy, and cream aroma. Hazy amber color with absolutely no head, even with an aggressive pour. Very medicny taste, with apple notes throughout. Apple core finish. Rather like a belgian witbier. Not to my liking., although I have really enjoyed other beers from this brewer.
