3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Birdiebeagle (958) - Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 6, 2009
Bottle Pours a hazy goldenrod with an average lasting off white head. Which produces good lacing. Has some cool aromas which change constantly. The one which seems to always show up is an orange creamsicle witha touch of metallic hints. A small amout of citrus hops and something I can only descirbe as a wet dog. The taste is wonderful crisp and clean, with an underlying hoppiness that produces a tang of bitterness. It lacks the over bearing floweriness of many wheats. A very good blend. Has a pretty good aftertaste. A good drinking wheat beer. Seems to leave a differnt taste on the tongue sip after sip.

Clear golden yellow pour with small ring of white head. Heavy wheat with light citrus fruit aroma. Flavor is wheat and a little metallic. Medium thin body is cloying with moderate carbonation.

12 oz. bottle. I did catch a strong honey smell as I opened and poured, somewhat unexpected. From the name, I expected this to be a Belgian wit, but I see the category here is more correct. So instead of yet another old wheat beer, I’ve a nice, sunny brew that’s a little out of place here on Christmas night. My sample is packed with bubbles that help to keep the sweetness from settling too heavily on my tongue. Some Cascade, a light ale fruitiness round out the soft spices of wheat. I just find this to be a very pleasant surprise.

Ultra hazy amber coloured body with an orange glow and a thinnish tan head - a completely unfiltered wit - looks pretty nice! Aroma of metal, corn, coriander seed and a strong bit of oranges. Medium-bodied. Strong malty flavour with tangy citrus and potent spices following behind. Aftertaste shows potent nuts, metal and a tiny bit of honey. Overall, a strong and not-so-traditional wit. I didnt mind this so much, but others are much better for the style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchants in Dearborn, Michigan on 06-June-2008, sampled on 07-December-2008 at home in Washington.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Tessic (611) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 24, 2008
This wheat ale poured a cloudy orange colour with a nice big foamy, off white head. Scents include citrus, hopps and grass. First taste was smooth and creamy with flavours of oranges, hopps and grass. Not much caramel like stated in the description. Finish is slightly watery but lightly bitter with hopp flavours lingering. Palate citrus and bitter hopps flavour. Not bad.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2010 Amending my original rating below. Finally got around to buying a another 6 pack of this - not a hint of nasty in the aroma or taste at all. Must of had a bad batch when I tried it before. Ratings are upped and this is an excellent wheat ale.
Original rating:
Tawny, hazy, copper colored beer, slightly cloudy. Must be my nose, but the aroma was alarming - a bit of wheat, orange, and slight overtones of vomit. Smelled bad. Tasted great. Must be like cheese. Good wheaty, spicy, grainy flavor and very tasty sour hops at the finish. I’ll drink more of this - but I won’t inhale.

Bottle poured into a weizen, muddy orange in color, good head. Weak aroma of spicey wheat. Taste is the same...weak.... funky wheat taste, just kind of bland taste. Not that good of a beer.
