Arcadia Whitsun is a modern interpretation of a mid-19th century English spring and summer festival ale. It is light golden in color with a rich, creamy head, full bodied and has a lightly toasted caramel flavor. The addition of Michigan star thistle honey contributes a uniquely smooth drinkability to this unfiltered wheat ale.

Copper pour with a thin tan head. Aroma is almost like a honey mead. flavor is mostly honey with some orange peel and other citrus notes. Some light spice towards the finish honey fades quickly. Interesting take on the style.

High-quality, dense, and nicely layered, but too much hops (and too little of the "lightly toasted caramel"), to say the least.

Can shared. Pours a medium almost unfiltered orange color with white head. Nice wheat and malt aroma with a touch of citrus. The flavor is wheat and orange. Decent flavor and body. Overall pretty decent. Great summer beer.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle in Manistique, VA. Clear, bright amber-orange with a small ivory head and very good lacing. Aroma of caramel, orange, wheat, coriander, yeast and lemon. Taste of coriander, orange, wheat, caramel, mild floral hops and yeast with a lemony finish. Medium/light body and medium/high carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle - kind of a dark plum look with sediment floating around in it and next to no head. Has a dark fruit flavor to it with some orange peel and also malty.

Had the beer in bottle AND can, but finally reviewing after having cask conditioned at Slow’s in Detroit. Opaque brownish-caramel color. Great lacing. Thick, rich mouthfeel. Notes of yeast, candi sugar, some citrus. If you can get this from a firkin, do it.

Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – The beer is served a lightly hazed golden yellow color with a one finger head of billowy white foam. The head fades rather quickly leaving a fantastic level of foamy rings of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is heaviest of an orange smell mixed with a strong showing of wheat. Along with these are some lighter notes of a yeasty smell as well as a bit of lemon. Taste – The taste begins with a wheat bread flavor mixed with a little bit of a drier orange flavor. The orange flavor lessens a bit as the flavor advances being replaced by some flavors of a more lemon like citrus. All the while a decent yeasty and lightly hopped grassy flavor comes to the tongue. In the end with the loss of the orange, increase in the lemon and grass and maintenance of the wheat a somewhat crisp and dry flavor is left to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thinner side with a carbonation level that is on the higher side. Both are rather fitting for the style creating a rather refreshing feel. Overall – An alright and rather crisp brew, but really nothing that is worth going out of your way for.

On cask. Aroma of pepper, orange citrus, and wheat. Appears hazy orange with lots of lace, some off white foam. Tastes of bitter orange, sweet vanilla, and savory pepper. Thick and fizzy mouth feel. Overall, very good!

Draft at Moriartys. Cloudy orange amber pour with only a slight ring of foam. Tangelos. Cantaloupe. Butternut squash. Challah with orange marmalade. Celery stalks. Palm fronds. Sunflower seeds. Apricot pits. Juicy dark citrus with earthy resins and spice. Much fuller palate than a typical wheat beer but nothing too scary. Decent summer beer. Feels almost like a Sangria.
