TheDean (784), MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Sep 23, 2004 Ok, so I’ve been on a wheat kick as of late. This is a nice one, not as flavorful as I’ve had recently, but still damn good.
bhensonb (2887), Woodland, California, USA Sep 7, 2008 Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Hazy amber color with a frothy beige head. It’s got Xmas spice aromas. Near medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is spicy, but it’s got a little dirty graininess. Seems to be some ginger or similar. It gets better with time. Tastes like it came from Belgium. Spice takes over at the finish. Interesting drink. Bet it was a hit in 1850. timsilvia32 (211), born in Michigan, North Carolina, USA Aug 19, 2008 Cloudy gold pour. Some citrus/honey maybe ginger or allspice aromas. Plenty of citrus with some caramel, some other spices not quite sure. Pretty light bodied, with enough hops for a pretty clean finish. I don’t normally care for wheats, but this one is ok. A small step up from the normal bore of a weizen. wetherel (1012), Carlsbad, California, USA Aug 19, 2008 Bottle from kmweaver. Thanks Ken! Amber yellow color. Small head of small bubbles. Can’t describe the aroma. Medium aromatics. Kind of smells like apples. A hint of alcohol in the nose. Apple skin bitterness. Medium drinkability. Eh. kmweaver (2015), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Aug 9, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a clear, golden-orange color; thin off-white head with medium-bubbled lacing. Lots of sugar, overripe citrus, and orange fruitiness in the aroma; a touch tart and a touch sticky. Medium mouthfeel: lively carbonation; lots of candy sugar, basic honeyed sweetness, oranges and a bit of wheat upfront; decent presence in the mouth; but, overall, an orange-infused, highly carbonated, sugary, slightly-tart, overripe, light wheat beer. Kind of an odd bird. Medium finish: lots of toasted malts, breadiness, and some oranges. mwelsh13 (140), Maryland, USA Jul 12, 2008 12 oz bottle poured light orange color with very little head. Orange and lemon flavors with a little bit of hop bitterness. Little to no honey flavor. Decent lawnmower beer.
