22 oz waxed bottle served in a Deschutes snifter. Thanks to pmoney for the share.
A: Pours a semi-hazy brownish color. Dark amber around the edges. Light white head forms on the pour and recedes to a thin ring. Some soapy lace is left down the glass.
S: Oaky with some light vinous notes. Red grape, pale malt and little toast.
T: Light toffee, oak and some pale malts. The red wine is a little more apparent with some tart grape and semi-sweet berry.
M: Dry and light bodied. Medium high carb. Slightly sour finish.
O: Decent. A little to oak forward, but the base didn’t get lost. Red wine was a nice touch.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 alexsdad06 (3043) - Ohio, USA - FEB 24, 2013
Bottle (I think shared by b3shine). Pours a clear dark amber color with a small off white head. The aroma has a light tart cherry note, wood, hints of vanilla and caramel. The flavor is very woody, some musty character, the kriek notes are mild, some vanilla with mild tart notes. I think the cherry needs to be more prominent.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Tmoney99 (8788) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 1, 2012
Bottle. Poured dark ruby brown color with an average frothy white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex cherry sour, wood and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sour & sweet flavor with a solid sweet & sour finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid complex beer.

Bottle to pint. Looks decent; a transparent brown with white lacing and ample carbonation. Smells and tastes good; funky and cherry with nice notes from the wine barreling. Nice on the palate too. This is good beer!

A muddy brown color, maybe a dark amber, with an off-white head. The cherries come through nicely on the nose. There is some bread and toffee sweetness and a faint oakiness. A definite vinegar note to it as well. The flavor has pronounced vinegar and cherry notes with a fair amount of wine and red grape. A hint of oak, maybe some vanilla, and a bit of toasted malt and toffee.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 deyholla (4789) - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA - DEC 23, 2011
Bottle shared by Sean, thanks! Pours a clear deep ruby with an off-white head that dissipates nearly immediately to the edges. Aroma has a decent amount of earthy wood and horse blanket backed by some earthy red fruits/wine and deep grains. Flavor has really mild with some earthy grains and a bit of metallic note. Really didn’t work.

bottle... light brown with a reddish tint, not much of a head... the aroma is very bready, oak, a touch of cherries, tart, ok... tastes decent, not knocking my socks off, another generic sour but easy to drink and far superior to the bourbon, not a fan of the malt presentation and the cherries don’t come through
