COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dinner Jacket O’Red IPA This luscious ruby-coloured ale combines bold caramel flavours of pale and melanoidin malts and the creamy texture of oats with the bracing crispness of North American hops for an unforgettable taste experience. Brewmaster’s Tasting Notes Dinner Jacket O’Red IPA is a strong Red India Pale Ale. This ruby red beer balances a strong hop profile with a lightly roasted, big malty backbone. The addition of oatmeal lends a silky smooth balance to this decidedly hoppy beer.

Can from the LCBO. Poured a dark ruby colour with off white head. Nose is caramel, toffee, bread malty. Slightly piney. Taste is malty and bitter, some citrus rind. Not bad.

This ipa poured a deep amber colour with a white, foamy head. Scents include citrus hops, pineapple and orange juices. Very citrus. First swig was smooth with big citrus hop flavour with a side of unsweetened iced tea. Finish is medium bitter with the citrus hops lingering on the palate.

Pours a clear reddish copper with a big frothy tan head. Great Aroma of caramel, toast, toffee, citrus, pine and light floral esthers. Taste is caramel, pine, citrus hops, toffee a d a nice big bitterness... Has a semi dry finish with a touch of astringency from the hops but overall a great refreshing beer!

Poured from a can, brilliantly clear amber/red with a creamy white head that leaves lacing around the glass. Aroma is toasted bread and piney hops. More toasty bready malt flavor followed up by a firm bitterness and some subtle piney hops. Some boozy warmth on the finish.

Very clear light brown pour. Not too much head but there is good lacing. Smells like an IPA. Tastes like one too. Has that bitterness people seem to love. A bit tart as well. I’m not a big fan of the style. This isn’t bad, just not my thing.

473ml can. Clear copper body, big beige head with excellent retention and beautiful lacing. Aroma is predominately citrusy, caramel malt, orange zest, very floral, autumn leaves. Taste of grapefruit zest, a touch of pine, caramel malt, herbs. Not bad.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown with a thick pillowy white head. Aroma: Caramel, toffee, malt and biscuit. Flavour: Caramel, malt, toffee and just a hint of grapefruit/citrus. Overall: I enjoyed this beer with its caramel and malt flavors but wouldn’t have pegged it for an IPA. I detected almost no hops, just the malt characteristics.

Can. Dark amber pour with a medium off-white head. Aroma is mostly caramel and some pine. Taste has some toasty malts and a bit of bitterness but not a lot.

Pours a deep rich amber, with a medium white head. Aroma is quite muted, but notes of roasted malts, pine, and citrus does poke through. Tasting notes include pine resin, faint citrus, and a slightly bitter finish. The palate is medium, and coats the mouth. Not bad, but not great.

Can: Poured a dark amber color ale with a large foamy head with some retention. Aroma of caramel malt and citrus hops is enjoyable enough. Taste is also dominated by bitter citrus notes with some caramel malt also noticeable. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Nothing to write home about and somewhat too sweet for my taste in IPOA but well brewed nonetheless.
