Poured a clear amber with a quickly fading off white head. Aroma of nutty, sweet malt. Watery body, flavour of subdued mail chocolate and malt with a small bitter aftertaste.

50cl bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours a dark honey colour with a slim but nice head. The nose has an earthiness with a biscuity-toffee note. The taste has more of the toffee biscuits and again there’s a background earthiness. The palate has a medium body and texture and then unfortunately it falls off a cliff somewhat. Overall, the nose was great but overall, it’s just so so - the style is somewhere between a bitter and a Scotch ale.
