Cask-conditioned @ JDW. Roasty aroma. Slighty vinous with aniseed flavours. Too thin. Not much chocolate, a chocoholic would be sorely disappointed.

Cash : Brewery Tap, Wimbledon. Poured black, and what looked quite thin in consistancy. It tasted of chocolate but lacked any body at all( my suspicion is chocolate essence instead of chocolate malt) It was much the same as The Meantime version. Drinkable all the same

JDW, Rochester. An almost black beer of little noticable aroma. Light bodied with raspberry notes and a chocolate ghost in the finish. A rather dull mild.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Head Of Steam euston. A black beer with hints of ruby and an off-white head. Good chocolate notes in the aroma and chocolate malt tastes. A malty pleasant beer.

Cask conditioned at the Head of Steam, Euston, London. I would probably have called this a mild. Slight chocolate (chocolate malt rather than actual chocolate), roasty malt, slightly sweet, somewhat tasty but no means a great beer.

Cask Conditioned, at the Wenlock Arms, London.
Dark brown with a tan head. Chocolate and more chocolate aroma. Very toasty and dry. A generous proportioned ale. Very nice indeed.

Archers! Don't ya just love 'em? New beer every week. What would old McSpoons do without Archers, eh? But, give the boys credit - they can actually put together a decent drop. This is an interestingly chocolately stout. Not top drawer, but - bless their little brewing mittens - not bad.

Hand pulled at The Anchor, Birmingham. Lovely dark appearance, akin to black leather, scarce lacing and a persistent cappucino topping. Aromatic dark chocolate stench. Bounces on the tongue like Wayne Sleep. Quite rounded and oily. All in all fantastic (MJP).
