Claret Freehouse. Caramel flavoured bitter with an amber hue. Some dry dusty English hop in the finish. Marris otter greasy & rancid pig fat in the middle. Not impressed.

Light bronze in colour with not too much carbonation. Aromas are light grain with some spice. Flavours are sweet malts then quite dry. Not much else to say, really. "City Boy" does sound like a race horse, though. Hardly likely to tempt newcomers to real ale.
