3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DanielBrown (2717) - Birmingham (via Leicester), - MAR 6, 2005
Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Dark indeed, with a good wedge of head. Any worries I may have had disappeared on first sip: this is a well executed Mild, with plenty of flavour to go around. Good richness, edging towards Stoutdom. Smooth and nicely sweetened. Good to gulp down.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Dark brown with beige head. Sweet thin and malty, almost bready in character. Too sweet to be a quaffer, which is what a mild is supposed to be. Some dark roasted bitterness in the background, pretty average.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Grovlam (4108) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 29, 2007
Cask @ Charlie’s. Light beige head that mostly diminished. Spare lacing. Very dark colored. Aroma was light sweet malty notes with hints of toasted, chocolate. Light bodied with a slightly thin texture. Flavor was sweet with hints of bitterness. Slight bitter finish.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Ungstrup (23917) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 15, 2007
Cask at Cockney Pub, Århus. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with a strong roasted note, that gives it hints of acidity. The flavor is sweet malty and very roasted, combined with light notes of chocolate, again the hard roasted malt gives it hints of acidity. No wonder the body is thin.

On tap at the Pianeta Birra, Rimini, Italy.
Pours a dark brown coloured with small creamy beige head and mild chocolate nose. Light roasted malty and slight bitter coffee aroma with pleasant notes of toffee and caramel. Smooth with nice bitterness in the finish.

Cask at GBBF 06’: tastes very fresh, great roasty flavor, quite light bodied, the only bad thing is some light unpleasent rotten and skunky flavor, but still a nice mild with a dry finish.

GBBF - 2006. Slightly thin and bland. Quite refreshing with dark malt notes and faint raspberry tones. But too bland to be interesting.

[Cask at GBBF] Dark brown. Sweet and light bodied with rounded mouthfeel. There’s roasty malt and corn flakes. Feels light and easy going. A more than decent mild.
