Cask Handpump at the Marble Arch Inn, Manchester 30/04/2004 Golden amber coloured hoppy malty bitter with a dry lasting finish.

Deep amber with little nose. Usual rich sweet maltiness and a vague hint of dryness. Too sweet for me and not very Scottish either. (Cask @ Orwell, Wigan)

Nice pale amber colour. Indistinct aroma. The flavour is rather odd. From the name I would guess there is some whisky malt in here (see also His Lordship’s Whisky Beer from the same brewery). It also has a rather sappy character on the palate and the combination is not too successful. The grassy notes continue in the lingering finish, but there is a tinny edge too. Medium bodied. Cask (handpump), Head of Steam, Euston, London NW1.
