Gravity cask @ Cuckoo Inn, Hamptworth. Ruby coloured. Toasty malts, caramel, treacle and earthy hops. Some unpleasantness halfway through with soapy cream texture but quite good despite this.

Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Bright, bloody red, with some beige head. Flavour is good, and extremely full for the abv. Reminiscent of a Barley Wine (if you can believe that), with it’s marmite maltiness. Good drymalt on the fnish, good burnt toffee and smooth, winter fruits. Very good - and that makes it 3 quality beers, in a row, from Archers! C’mon lads, you can do it!

Dog & Bone, Gillingham. A malty sweetish ale with a nice soft red colour. Sadly mine was off. This quality of the beer in this pub is declining.

Cask, Bluebell in Scunthorpe. Amber, moderate white head and fine condition. Low fruitiness and gentle hop in the nose, joined by some toffee notes in the mouth. Dry and bitter in the finish with hints of biscuits developing.
