A mid brown slightly rich beer with some bitterness in the malt finish.

Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. A rather ordinary bitter. Chestnut with a thin white head; fruity malt flavours developing slowly (perhaps served too cold?); and a nutty dry finish. No complaints, but nothing to enthuse about.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 downender (4380) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 22, 2007
Cask conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 22/5/07. Brown with a slight head. A sweet, malty aroma followed by a fruity flavour and sour finish. Not a beer I would bother to drink again.

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A hazy amber beer with a beutiful orange head. The aroma is sweet and freshly hoppy combined with notes of fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of peaches, caramel, and elderberryflowers. The body is a bit thin.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 harrisoni (10067) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - MAR 7, 2006
Cask handpull at The Phoenix, Canterbury. Chestnut with thin beige head. Earthy, muddy in mouth with caramel and earthy/berb hop. Soft in mouth, and finish is not too assertive, fades quite quickly. Hop of finish needs to be more pronounced for my liking
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DanielBrown (2717) - Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAR 29, 2005
Hand pulled at the Anchor, Birmingham, during their Archers weekend. Dark amber, with speckled lacing and a nice bitter aroma. Choc notes which linger on the finish. Beforehand there’s sugary candy choc sweetness, blended unevenly with sour hoppy bitterness. Not awful, not briliant, but I’ve had worse. Bittersweet.

Cask conditioned - handpump - NBC Club Northampton. A mid brown coloured bitter which has loads of bitter hoppiness. The aroma is fruity blackberries etc. A very tasty beer which suprised me as Archers do tend to concern themselves with short run beers far too much.

The Oak, Bank, New Forest. Decent enough. Mildly hopped best bitter. Pleasant bramble fruit flavours. A typical Archers beer.

(Cask conditioned, ath the Royal Oak, York, England) Amber colored bitter with a medium white head. Fairly drinkable, yet not overly exciting.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Spiesy (2336) - Sydney, Greater London, AUSTRALIA - SEP 19, 2003
Cask Conditioned, at the Wenlock Arms, London. Amber with a fine white head, possessing a dark reddish hue. Presented as always in good condition. Feeling fuller and richer then its 4.2% ABV would imply, it’s a good ale.
