Cask, Frog and Toad, Gillingham. Aroma of rancid nylon. Dull flavour - neither citric sharp nor earthy bitter, but a boggy blend of both. Clinging mouthfeel. Watery finish. Dreadful beer. No wonder Archer's beers rarely travel far beyond Swindon.

Light golden colour, thin head. Sweet light fruit and crisp hop aroma. Flavour fills out with a sweet but tangy malty almost slightly musky body. Very impressive for a 3.5% beer.

1. Cask Handpump at the Old Harkers Arms, Chester 12/08/2002 A golden smooth beer with some sweetness and slightly dry hoppy finish. 2. 05/08/2005 Cask Handpump at the Head Of Steam, London First drink of the day en route to the GBBF Again the beer was golden and hoppy with some sour fruit and bitterness in the dry malt finish.

Gazza (726) - Worcester, Worcestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 15, 2004
A fairly balanced beer erring on the side of sweetness. Has some malt character but the sweetness is too much for me and increases towards the finish. (Cask @ Cornubia, Bristol)

Cask Conditioned at The Stags Head, Swalcliffe. Pale gold coloured with thin head. Dry hoppy beer, tobaco back notes with a smokey character. Thin and nasal on the finish.

Quaffmeister (50) - Henlow, ENGLAND - JUN 20, 2003
(Hand Pump) A straw coloured ale, with a loose head that fails very early. Reasonably hoppy flavour, and drinks above it's weight. It is what it says it is, a refreshing summer beer.

Sampled at the Bag O’ Nails, Bristol...fruity (blackberry), hoppy, slight leather note, refreshing. Bursts with flavour.
