Cask (gravity) @ The National Winter Ales Festival 2008, Manchester, UK. Clear medium amber color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, berry, spicy, sweet licorice. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (170108)

Somerset Arms, Gravesend Roasty notes inthis dark old ale dripping with raisins, port and Christmas cake. A little greasy - and after a while the diacetyl (butterscotch according to Archers) gets too much. A half would be better than a pint.
