On draught at Trudeau Airport, 4/18/15
Small white head fades to cover atop a clear, blonde body.
Light hoppiness in the nose shows not much more than a dusting of pepper and dry hay. Some bitter notes are consumed by a slightly unsettling vanilla-cream-like sugar note. Somewhat strange, almost waxy, not sure what it is (partial grain brewing? Don’t know). Other than that, it’s wholly inoffensive with no alcohol and no DMS/diacetyl.
The flavor is very wet, watery, extremely lightly hopped (again, just some very light herbs, minimal peppery bitterness) with loose carbonation and a rather lifeless feel to it. Sugars are much too high, resulting in a not very refreshing beverage with more of that weird vanilla-waxiness. Probably not as bad as I’m making it sound, but I didn’t stay for a second....Based on the ratings, looks like I should have started with the L’insoumise, but it takes a deeply disturbed individual to pick the English Pale ale as their first beer at a brewery.

Blond color with no head. Dry, a bit crisp and grassy, not spectacular but just enough to elevate above the most common mass Lagers.

Golden pour with a short-lived white cap. Nose is honey, cereal, hay, very faint hops. Taste is sweet grainy malt with hints of loose change. Finish is barely bitter. Barely a pilsener, but not terrible.

Pours a clear straw hue topped by a finger or so of frothy white head. Retention is moderate and some rough lacing can be seen. The nose is dry with fresh herbal hops, some hay, slight corn in the back. The taste is typical, malty with white bread, grains. The hops add the expected sharp notes and bring the flavours to a short and mild bitter finish. Crisp and refreshing, a nice beer to have in the fridge on a hot summer day. Cheers!
