This rating is for a can that was shaken all the way home in my laptop bag and not refrigerated for the whole afternoon. Pours a clear copper with a big offwhite head that leaves impressive lacing. Aroma is less impressive with light pine but massive earthy hops. Still, interesting. Some fruity angles to it, too. Taste is moderately sweet and gently bitter. This isn’t your abrasive American IPA. Flavors are made of caramel and fruits, hops come out as floral a little too. Body is medium, carbonation too. Finish is more bitter than sweet so all is good. Overall a fair pale ale, I’m quite happy to revisit it and not thinking that it is gross now.

Belle surprise. Bonne petite IPA! Cheers!

Malt forward, English style session pale. Pours dark copper with good head and lacing. Some light barley and some slight rusty hops aroma in finish. Very light bitter finish. Tall can.

Deep golden with an off-white head. Aroma is honey, peach blossom, hint of spruce. Light mouthfeel, subtle palate with a hint of sugar to start then a long bitter finish. Taste is citrus peel, honey.

Can. Medium-to-dark amber with a light orange head that leaves behind a messy lace. Aroma is malty and sweet, bready with light toasty notes and a honey sweetness. Nicely malty backbone with a honey and peach sweetness, ending with a dry bitterness. Very tasty.

500ml can from SAQ.
Appearance : Clear dark amber with medium head. Nice lacing.
Aroma : Rich biscuit malt with caramel. Light earthy hops with light floral and very light citrusy notes.
Taste : Brown sugar, earthy hops, nice malt. Slightly mineral. Finish slightly mineral with a slightly astringent bitterness. Earthy hops on finish with malt and light caramel,
Palate : Moderately soft carbonation. Could be a bit softer considering the style.
Overall : Nose more appealing than what the taste revealed. Finish is a bit astringent with some piny notes and there is are some lingering mineral notes that are almost ruining what could have been a fairly good english pale ale.

Can 500ml. Pours beautifull deep amber with high beige head. Lots of carb. Intense lacing. Aroma is of malt, pine, fruits, caramel. Taste is of malt, caramel, pine, fruits, "heavy" bitterness (earthy/nutty, the kind I don’t dig). Palate: Medium body. Overall: Surprisingly bitter for a pale ale from Archibald. Not too overly sweet, as their beers can often be. I’d say it’s surprisingly good, but this is not my style. Those english hops just doesn’t do it for me.

471 ml can, 5.2%. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
