Sampler at Archipelago. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of lemongrass, ginger, wheat. Flavour is wheat, some asian citrussy spices, light grainy. Light sour finish. Light to medium bodied. Great aroma on this one.

Draught at Archipelago Brewpub, Singapore. Unclear golden with a medium white head. Strong aroma and flavour of orange, ginger, lemon grass and wheat. The balance is just right. Good bitterness and finishes dry and bitter. Refreshing and makes this very quaffable and would pair exceptionally well with the Asian-fusion of Singaporean cuisine.

On tap at brewpub. My least favourite of their lineup. Very fruity gingery nose, with more of the same in the taste. Finish is a too spicey for my liking.

UPDATED: FEB 21, 2009 It’s rather spicy and too variant in taste. The aroma is reminiscent of a herb and spice shop with a couple of fruits thrown in; not that of a usual wheat malt beverage This requires a real effort to try acquiring any liking. If you want a very exotic departure from the usual spectrum of wheat beers/ales, this is your ticket. I suspect if a non-professional taster is not informed, he might not realise it’s a wheat ale unless he is aware that wheat tends to be paired with lots of stuff (but not to this extent..). Good for experimentation in my view. But, not as a regular.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of wheat and light notes of fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of wheat and fruits - especially oranges and peaches. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

This one is a bit flat and by the numbers. Aroma is lacking any direction, slight cloves coming though. Murky orange with a thin white head. Flavour is a bit wierd, there is a slight spike of lime sourness that moves in to a more orange citrus. There is some bitterness that leaves a strange finish.

(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of fiulijn. Clear amber golden with a dense, off-white head. Spicy gingery nose. Medium body, sweet fruits and ginger, lightly perfumy. The finish is dry. Quite interesting. 160408

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a fully diminished white head. Sweet to citrusy and light spiced aroma. Flavour is medium dry spiced. Light lingering spiced finish. Decent level of spice flavours, not so much of wheat.
