3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 lgklotet (432) - Stockholm, - MAY 7, 2010
Having lived in Singapore for a year now I must say that this has been one of the few local beers that I’ve come back to again and again. It’s neither a wit nor a hefe, I guess american wheat is a better description, american wheat with lemongrass and kalamansi lime. And as such, I think it’s brilliant! Lemon grass and kalamansi? Nothing short of a stroke of genious! This however, is a fragile beer and I can see how it gets dinged by ratebeerians who sample it in less than prime condition.

Draft. Clear yellow gold with a decent head. Little discernible aroma. Medium body and frothy carbonation. The flavour is clearly wheat beer, but with a bit more substance (not too thin and sour). Lime in the foretaste and a good bitter finish. A refreshing and interesting beer.

Sampler at Archipelago, as Samui Wheat, ABV 4.6%. Clear light golden colour, white head. Aroma of full on lime and some oranges. Flavour is lemon and lime, some grain, bitter finish. Aroma promises more than flavour can deliver. Very refreshing but a bit one dimensional. Light bodied.
