Bottled A pale gold coloured beer with a fair amount of chill haze and a tiny off white head. A decent noble hop nose and then a good balanced taste of malt and hop. Not buttery which I find helles can be. Instead nicely drinkable with good flavour levels.

Bottled, 500ml, 5.7% as Premium Festbier from Westholme Stores, Goring, Oxon. Hazed yellow gold with slight white head. Initially quite light, a little sweet with a gentle fruity citric note, it becomes a little more assertive through the beer giving more fruitiness and a touch of hop spiciness. Reasonable without ever really getting going.

Bottle from Carringtons, Manchester. Light gold with rapidly diminishing white head. Slight hint of fruit in the nose. Undistinguished taste - nothing you can clearly label. Slightly sharp finish. Uninspired and boring, I’m struggling to finish this.

Bottle (5.7%). Light gold with a white head. Aromas are hay with citrus. Nutty with spices, quite dry. Flavours are sweet biscuit malts with floral notes. Woody and floral with some smokiness. Dry on the finish. Decent.

Bottle, 5.5% as Arcobräu Winterbier. Weak dusty aroma. The flavour is quite malty, and slightly sweet. Clear golden colour, small white head.

50 cL bottle as premium winterbier. Pours clear and golden yellow with a chalk white head. Mild hops fruity nose. Flavour is initially sweet and with a nice fruity hops accent. Light citric fruity. Ends with a mild bitterness and more of the same fruity flavours.

Bottle. Quite sweet with plenty of body. Medium pleasant texture and low carbonation. Clear appearance and easy to drink apart from being a little too sweet for my taste. A nice example of this type of beer.

Bottle, Dodgy Deli, Oxford. Very pale yellow gold, white head. Garden hops, cooked corn. Light veg and malt flavor, almost enough hops for balance, but in the end, a bit sticky and uninspiring. Would need to be significantly dryer to work at this hopping level. Or more aggressively carbonated. Needs life.
