2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
330 ml bottle as “Arcobräu Urfass” bought at Aeon in KCP, Kowloon City.
Light golden yellow colour; Near zero head and residual soapy white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Small sticky lacing and very little carbonation; Aroma of light malt, with light honey, very faint floral, light bread, faint lemon and light grass; Near zero sweet taste of fairly light malt, with hint of floral, soggy bread, light lemon and light grassy hops; Close to light body, watery but slightly slick palate; Mouth feel is like a very clean macro Pale Lager: malt and body is fairly light, near zero sweet taste, very low carbo, a bit of floral and light bread. Very easy going… Hoppiness is failr light lemon and grass hops nose and taste. Macro Pale-ish very low bitterness. No astringency, just malty finish; Fairly dry after taste, very easy to mouth.
Comments: Just have Arcobräu’s Schloss Hell last night, so the comparison is easy: this one leans towards Pale Lager, very well made, easy to drink but otherwise not much character. Whereas the Schloss Hell has stronger aroma and taste in the Helles direction, if also safe and less exciting. Both are safe bet for easy, no-hassle drinking, but if I want a Helles, the Schloss Hell is clearly better.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle 0,5. Despite a glamour collar on top of bootle and "Gräfliches" label, it is quite boring. Strongly marked maltiness, typical Saaz-style floral bouquet, rounded bitterness, watery body. Nothing outstanding at all, but it matches the style well.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Golden, small to average and fully diminishing head. Light to moderate malty - lightly grainy and lightly sweetish aroma, faint bread, light grassy hoppyness. Light to medium, malty - lightly grainy and lightly sweetish flavor with hoppyness. Finish is average, malty - lightly grainy and lightly sweetish, light grassy hoppyness. OK lightly sweetish helles - nothing special though.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle pours a clear golden color with a finger and a half of white head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is grassy with some light cereal grains and yeast. Taste is a grassy and spicy hop bitterness with a grainy malt sweetness finishing dry with a not so pleasant aftertaste. Light to medium body with adequate carbonation. I did not particularly care for this one.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild, fine malty, a bit spicy. Not very dry. Mild fruity notes of lemon in the background. Well balanced finish, soft-malty. Nice!
