12 ounce bottle from Total Wine Triangle Plaza, Raleigh, NC. Lots of sediment in this one which leads to a murky brown color, looking pretty much like mud. Thin head with fair head retention and lacing. Light bread and spice aroma with caramel. Taste is caramel, bread, spice. Thin-medium bodied.

Bottle. Pours a very muddy brown with a small beige head that goes away quickly. Aroma is not that pleasant: some, Worcestershire sauce, sour milk, overripe bananas, and faint spice. Taste is disappointing, not much of anything. The normal wheat beer flavors are neutralized by the sweet brown malt. Dry finish. A disappointment.

Bottle 50cl. [ As Waitrose Bavarian Dunkel Weissbier ].
Unclear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, caramel notes, banana, rubber. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (010808)

Bottle at chris_o’s pre banter banter. Alround rating: Iv written this down as a marzen and had only written bavarian, which was clearly a mistake. sweet brown ale malts, some belgian yeast, mmm.

In its Waitrose Bavarian Dunkel Weissbier colours. Dark muddy brown with an off white head. Yeasty floor ploish aroma. A lot of fizz, but the taste is gentle with wheat and cloves followed by a little dryness in the finish. Not bad.

500ml bottle bought from a Waitrose in London (as Waitrose Bavarian Dunkel Weissbier). Best before 31 July 2008. Hazy copper colour. Restrained aroma with little fruity ester character. Touches of clove and spice in the flavour. Slight sharp, citric acidity on the finish,. OK but not too exciting. A bit short of impact.
