3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 EdKing (1299) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 9, 2013
Bottle bought as ’Waitrose Bavarian Dunkel Weissbeer’. Cloudy light to dark brown, big foaming white head. Nose is amazing. Bready, cloves, bananas, caramel, spices. Taste is slightly flat, a lot of the carbonation is gone and the fruit, banana, caramel, clove and spices is a little muted. Will give this another chance though as I’m wondering if I just have one of those bottles that isn’t quite doing itself justice.

Tasted (frequently...) under the name of Waitrose Bavarian Dark Wheat Beer. Typical soft weissbier palate; dark with an off-white, sudsy head and hint of caramel. Gently hopped and surprisingly refreshing. Weissbier isn’t really my thing, but I do feel like one occasionally hence from time to time a few bottles of this get delivered with the groceries.

It’s unclear, light brown with a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of caramel, yeast, wheat and a little fruit. The flavour is sweet with notes of yast, caramel, fruit, wheat, and the finish is dry.
