3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle bought at Great Food Hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty.
Cloudy, hazy golden honey colour with some dirt-like yeast sediments; Two finger head with crumpety white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Good sticky lacing and very fizzy carbonation; Very fragment aroma of strong banana, strong pineapple, vanilla, sugar, caramel, bubble gum, light malt, strong yeast, light cloves, and very light grass; Low sweet taste of light malt, with good wheatyness, very light tart notes, very light banana, light caramel, low phenolic, yeast, light cloves, spices, light lemon and faint grass; Close to light body, slightly slick and bit dry palate; Mouth feel is straight forward, very standard Hefeweiss, with moderate maltyness, wheat is on low side with only low-fi tart notes, good caramel ,slight banana, ester and phenolic characters, yeast is not that spectacular. Okay… Hoppiness is very light grass nose, light lemon grassy taste. Very faint bitterness in background, just wheaty finish; Fairly dry after taste, very easy to mouth.
Comments: This one has very pleasing estery aroma, comparable to Rothaus Hefeweizen. Taste-wise it is very average and forgettable. At the end it’s just another easily drinkable macro, but that nice tropical fruitiness make you wish there is more to offer than this. Oh well.
