Cloudy amber orange coloured beer with a thick white head. A little spicy aroma, typical of the style, clove and cinnamon, with a background smokiness. Then the expected tropical fruit element comes through, banana and pineapple. Fizzy mouthfeel. A dry biscuity taste to start, which compliments the spice flavours of clove and cinnamon. The fruit flavours come through with a sweet and sour balance of banana and pineapple with sourness of grapefruit and lemon. The finish is a little short and lacking body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500 ml bottle in Straubing, Bavaria. Disappointingly simple, a bit thin, no great presence of banana, clove or anything else for that matter. Thirst quenching in a way that made it unnecessary to have another.

Very weak, watery texture and taste. Unmemorable. Tasted on tap at Brooklyn Waterfront Beer Festival, 6/16/2012.

Bottle (500ml from Aldi Supermarket):
Citrus and some orange zest on the nose along with some lemon and coriander. I also got a whiff of some spice but naturally it was the banana that made up most of the smell.
Cloudy yellow to light orange colour with a thumb sized, foamy white head taht is on the small side for a hefeweizen and settles to a thin, soapy lacing.
Banana with clove and light coriander. I detected some light citrus notes such as lemon and orange with some background spice in there too.
Smooth and with a fizzy tang to it and strong carbonation. There was also a lingering bitterness at the end to go with the overall sweetness of the beer.

A nice beer and one that I drank fairly easily although I wouldn’t rate it as a particulary good beer or hefeweizen for that matter. It was quite basic for the style and perhaps a little strong on the citrus. Drinkable though.

This wheatbeer has a lovely, cloudy, straw hue; with the smell of wheat, and fingerberry (banana). The smatch (taste) is sweet followed by a lingering yeastiness. Overall I have had better Dutchlandish wheatbeers, but this was more than likeworthy.

500ml bottle. Average weissbier, lacking some more flavour. Pale gold, hazy, cereal aromas. Medium body and average carbonation. Short finish.

From the UK Aldi chain: Arcobrau Weissbier Hell. 500ml bottle, best before 1st March 2013: poured into a Franziskaner Weissbier glass 9th May 2012. Looks every bit the ideal hefeweizen: cloudy with a deep, full white head: mid-range orange/lemon hue to the colour, just like the best of this style. Wheat aroma with mild traces of vanilla and banana: I prefer fuller smells in this style of beer. Refeshing but lacking in flavour: the first sip told me this was a cheap option. Weak body and taste: below average in all aspects bar the looks.
