On tap: Pours a cloudy pale golden with a creamy froth of white head. Has a soft floral hoppy and pale sweet malty nose. Starts with good fullness and lightly sweet and floral flavor before a drier earthy bittersweet finish. True to style and very drinkable.

330 ml brown bottle. Best before 4/11/2012. It is a fine looking brew. It pours a hazy light gold with a fizzy white head. The only knock is that there isn’t much lacing. This is a decently old bottle for the style but it smells fresh still, must have been kept okay in the past. It is light but malty with a hint of light fruit and a bit of herbal hop. The flavor is real nice. Really bright beer here. Some yeast prescence, more so then if you got it fresh on tap near the brewery, but it isn’t detracting much from the beer. It has a nice herbal bitter note in the finish and is mostly flavorful but subtle pale malts with a subtle fruitiness. Drink these before they go old, that is all.

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold color w/ a nice white head. A bit musty and metallic to the nose. Malty w/ hints of nuts on the finish. Dry and crisp. Medium bodied. Quite refreshing.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2011 hazy gold with thin but lasting white head; creamy medium body with medium carbonation.

aroma: pale malt, noble hops, minrality, and yeast.

taste: pale malt, noble hops, minerality, yeast. Has a homemade play-dough minerality at first. The hops have a bit of a rough edge, but the malt is clean and cracker-like.

This is less hoppy than most pils or helles, and creamier, with a subtler and smoother and more balanced character.

stangger (583) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 13, 2011
Aroma of yeast, fruit/banana, orange, spices. Taste. Is very mild orange, yeasty. It reminds me too much of hoegarden and that’s not good.

Draught at BrauhausSchmitz: Malt, slight honey, and light lager yeast. Poured yellow/gold in color with a small, white head that lasted throughout. Hazy. Not sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of Pils malts, slight herbs, and vegetables. Light to medium body. Dry texture. Average to slightly lively carbonation.

On tap at Churchkey. Served in a snifter. Pours a slightly-hazy light golden color with a good white head and some mild lacing. The nose brings a bit of very light hops, but mostly grainy malt. Too much grain, actually. The flavor is mostly raw grain and base malt without too much else going on. Light body and crisp carbonation. Decent enough, but not something I’d come back for. Serving type: on-tap
