yespr (6400), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jun 30, 2007 RBSG07. From a clear growler. Pours black. Aroma is sweet, dried fruit. Flavour is malty dry, no real sense of the sweetness. Goes into a dry malty finish. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 06/23/2007

CaptainCougar (4638), Rockville, Maryland, USA Nov 18, 2007 Growler at the RBSG grand tasting on 6/23/07: Pours an oily opaque with dark brown edges and a thin ring of light tan head. Aroma of earthy sweet lightly roasted and smoky malts with a hint of butterscotch. Body starts a little thinner with some mild lightly sweet and earthy caramel malt toward a lightly smoky bittersweet finish with a touch of butterscotch complexity. An interesting stout. BückDich (4540), Boise, Idaho, USA Oct 5, 2007 RBSG 07 Minneapolis Grand Tasting: Murky dark brown, no head, light lacing. Nose of wood and barrel, light bourbon and soy sauce. The flavor is dry and woody, bourbon and light roast, some clean sweet chocolate. It’s ironic how so many beers to reek of diacetyl and this one actually advertises such and has none. hopscotch (4485), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jul 8, 2007 Growler... RBSG 07... Pitch black ale with no head. I’m able to pull no butterscotch out of the nose, but I’m getting loads of vanilla, sourmash and strong notes of chocolate. Woodsy, chocolaty flavor with a mild whisky burn. Full-bodied with an ultra-creamy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Burnt, medium bitter finish with a touch of ethanol warmth. As I enter this rating, I see the ABV for this beer is around 15%. Wow, didn’t taste like it. Nice job, guys, however, where was all that butterscotch I was looking forward to?
