COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Arctic Fox Ice Cap Lager is a refreshing beer, best served arctic cold. The rich golden colour and body of the beer is created by using a traditional mashing process combining three different Australian malts. The refreshing bitterness is created by the early addition of Cascade hops and the distinctve stone fruit aromas are developed from the generous addition of Summer Saaz hops at the end of the boil. Arctic Fox beers are naturally carbonated and bottle conditioned. You may notice a thin layer of yeast at the bottom of each bottle of Ice Cap Lager, this yeast provides a natural protection for our beers.

Havenít had this for a while but new release is a marked improvement. Poured well with cloudy amber colour and a decent white head that lingered. Subtle citrus nose with sweet caramel tones from the malt. Thought carbonation was improved from last time as well. Good crisp sessionable lager with light to medium body. well done.

330ml bottle- a nice lager, some good fruity aromas. Better than any mainstream lager with a nice refreshing finish.

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2011 Bottle courtesy of Nick. Pours a cloudy amber with a small white head. Nice citrus enveloped by caramel malts on the nose. Rather pleasant in the taste. On the sweeter side of things as far as lagers go but I donít mind that. Toffee malts back the citrus in the taste. Good lager and wouldnít mind a few more of these

Amber golden colour, moderate carbonation and no head to speak of. Light aroma, actually quite fruity. Taste is a cloying, sweet flavour with a bitter after taste. I didnít expect much, but its actually not bad.

Keg. Lightly flavoured lager with sulphury notes. Not much to it. Light hop bitterness, didnít really get any hop aroma.

Bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy golden amber with nice billowy head. Plenty of sweetness in the aromas and some resiny hops. Not too bad. Flavours are much the same with some hop spicenss offset by grainy malt. OK beer. Like the label for what it is worth.

Davros (1806) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 27, 2010
Pours golden amber with a huge head fed by lively streams of carbonation. Aroma is light, comprised mostly of spicy, grassy hops (presumably noble, lots of saaz perhaps?) with clean sweet malt in the background. The label just says "lager" but this is definitely Bohemian pilsner territory. Flavours include more grassy, spicy and lemon hops with sweet grainy malt taking over later and leading to a mild metallic bitterness. Nice light body, high carbonation.

Bottle. Slightly hazy gold, white head. Very high bead. Nose has cereal malt, meadows, citrus and nectarines. Quite thick malt for the style with some citric bitterness - but rather less than suggested by the nose. Short, slightly sour dry finish. I suppose this an attempt to make an unmistakably identifiable Australia lager thatís not crap - and itís very successful.
