Pour is a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is a nice caramel malt base with a nice hop follow up. Flavor is a nice hop resin with some caramel malt and sweet black bread. Probably the most flavorful "steam" beer and includes the original from Anchor.

I got a 12oz bottle of this as part of a M&M 6pk from Everett’s in South Beloit, IL for $9.99 in early 2012. Pours a clear reddish amber color with a bubbly head. Not too much of a strong scent but there are malts and hops present. Starts off smooth and semi-bold with malty flavor but finishes dry and slightly bitter. Drinks rather smooth and fast as I found myself not wanting to make the dry after taste last long. A nice find and a slightly better than average brew.

Lighter body , than I was expecting. Pleasent aroma, medoum head, mouthfeel was nice and malt and hops were well balnced, malty sweety at first then a hint of bitter hops at the end with a nice second or two of overlap. Was overwelmed by the aged brick(beer kase) that I ate with it. But all in all, a very good beer that I would have again.

12oz bottle from Armanetti’s. Pours a crystal clear, copper colored body with a finger-width, dense and frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is orange hops consisting of floral and slightly resiny pines. A nice bready and caramel maltiness behind the hops with a touch of toasty grain. Flavor is similar. A slightly bready, caramel maltiness up front before a good amount of florals and resiny, earthy and piney orange peels comes in. A touch of toasty grain, a light earth, and a light, crisp lager sweetness as this finishes dry and clean before leaving a pretty lengthy, hoppy aftertaste. Overall, a really nice lager. Crisp and clean with a solid bready, caramel malt backing and plenty of earthy, slightly resiny and piney, orange hops. This was a very easy drinking and pleasant, quaffable beer.

This is a copper colored pale ale-ish beer with a large bubbled white head of fair longevity. Citrus and floral hop notes dominate the nose and compliment an overall very light and crisp texture. This veers close to being watery but instead is just whispy and refreshing. I have, as of late, had kind of thing w/ beers light this. It is not a knockout punch but a quick, spirit lifting beverage that tastes good w/ real American hop character while being every bit as drinkable as a nice Pilsner.

Draft at Plainfield MWBF. Pours a deep amber, tending to brown. Offwhite head that sticks around. Nose is pretty blah, some faint malt notes and some minty hops. Not much there. On taste, remarkably not much flavor, really not much going on in general. Some soft bitterness and hints at herbal hops, but just restrained. Not a bad beer or poorly made, just very generic.

12oz bottle. Filtered orange-tan. Thin, patchy head. Some resinous orange pine hops in the aroma. Sandy mouthfeel, quite nice and hop forward. A really well done California Common, could go head to head with Anchor. Medium to full bodied, with a nice chewy, toasty malt body. Excellent balance. Well done.

Tasted on 7/31/11 from a 12oz bottle at Lush West Town. Pours hazy burnt orange with an average, even white head that slowly recedes to uneven, bubbly lace. The nose is has some nice bread and cereal malt aromas along with some spicy, nearly noble smelling, hops and a nice earthy yeast character as well. The flavor is malty up front with the bread and cereal showing a little bit toasty with a hint of hazelnut, and the hops even spicier than on the nose and the same earthy yeast component. The body is light with average carbonation and a long, spicy, noble hops finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark golden with a small white froth. Aroma of kind of stinky hops, over a sweet carmel and bready malt grain. Flavor starts sweet and malty, some honey, caramel, a touch of crisp hops in the finish. Light to medium body and a crisp carbonation. Ok

At Beckett’s Nice to get a change to try a new Chicago Brewery. Amber colored beer with some grassy hop flavors. Some slightly roasted malt. Pretty good. Serving: Bottle
