COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beer & Food. We’re big fans of both. Especially Italian food. And not that we don’t enjoy a nice glass of vino with our "primi piatti", we just feel that wine has hogged the table a bit when it comes to Italian dining. So we created Motorino, an Italian-Style Pale Ale to pair up with and stand up to our favorite Italian dishes. Just like a great meal, the key is to start with the finest ingredients. Then, we brew it locally for the freshest experience. By the way, it’s equally and eminently enjoyable when there’s not a meatball in sight. Buon Appetito!

12oz bottle from Armanetti’s. Pours a lightly hazed, orange-copper colored body with a finger-width, dense and frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is citrusy, orange and grapefruit florals with a bready, lightly sweetened caramel and a touch of resiny pine. Flavor is similar. Thinner, but pretty well hopped with a good amount of grassy, dry bitterness. A light, bready and caramel malt up front before a good amount of grassy, citrusy hops come in. Finishes very dry and moderately bitter with lots of grassy hops, a few piney resins, and a touch of florals. Lengthy aftertaste following a light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty straight-forward, well hopped APA. A light bready malt sweetness with a good amount of grassy hops. Dry and balanced. Not bad.

golden with one finger head. i’m also ot sure about the italian influence. this seems to be a straght up APA. hops are subtle, mainly in the finish. there’s a very slight soapyness to this that i would prefer not be there. otherwise fairly good,

Aroma is garden vegetables and a hint of hops. The flavor is similar to the aroma with green peppers and cucumbers/zucchini and a hoppy finish. Not sure if this was supposed to have a flavor specifically made with the same ingredients that were in the food to be eaten; not bad just weird.

I’m not sure what is meant by the description calling this an "Italian-Style Pale Ale," but it is a fairly decent APA. It pours a slightly cloudy amber/orange body with a respectable head and leaves some spotty lacework behind. The aroma is light, some bready malt, a dash of caramel, and faint citrusy scents. The taste is more balanced, the hops more flavorful, having a hit of zest and some tangerine. The finish is dry and mildly bitter. Not bad.

Pours a mostly clear amber on sample in oak park. Not much aroma and sour flavor. Not good.

Given to me as a gift by my friend Kate for my 30th birthday, thanks Kate! Enjoyed on my 30th birthday at home watching Tyra (why I’m not sure...). Appearance is a murky/dirty copper / mud water with not much head, maybe a small white ring around the glass. Aroma is very malty, like caramel toast, but more on the bread element. Taste is a malty bomb, very much like toast, not too thick but not thin by any means. It doesn’t seem very carbonated, actually seems flat, but I’m belching after drinking this one which I typically don’t do (in public). This states it was brewed to be paired with an Italian dish, and unfortunately I wasn’t eating one while consuming, I can say though that I don’t think it’s very good to drink on its own, can’t say the same for being paired with a meal, but I do think it would go well with a hearty & starchy dish like pasta. Would try again with an Italian meal, but not on its own.

Bottle. Poured a hazy copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate balanced hop and malt aroma. Medium body with a thin slick texture, small particles and lively carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a freind as a session beer.

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of bread, caramel malts, and a hint of some citrus hops. Flavor is pretty much all malts, almost no hop flavor, it’s there but barely.
