3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I got this as part of an M&M 6pack at Everett’s in South Beloit, IL in summer 2012.
Pours a medium brown color with a slight head. This is perhaps one of the darkest IPA’s I have ever seen as it almost has the color of a nut brown ale. Scent is mild with bitter hops giving it that great IPA scent. The taste is both bitter and malty at the same time. There is the bitterness from the hops and the bold taste of toasted malts usually found in a red/amber brew. Certainly unique in both color and taste which is either good or bad depending on your beer of choice. I found this beer highly likeable and liked the bold decisions in making this beer.

Sumfin ain?t right, took a whiff,no discernable hop pres. at all, slight malt nose that?s it.Taste, not much to speak of, alittle bit a malt,bitter/sour finish.Any quality control over there at Argus? Infected bottles? Not too sure, dont seem like it. QUite disappointed, was expecting a decent IPA instead got a 6pk of drain pours

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma is pine, yeast and an almost vegetable/spice element. The flavor is citrus, spices, malts and a mildly tart finish.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle to taster glass at Chicago Beer Fest. I had low expectations and they were definitely exceeded by this beer. First thing you notice is the striking copper color with a dense cream colored head. It’s very pretty in the glass and unexpectedly dark for the style. Aroma is mild hop aromatics. The flavor is very flowery with floral hop characteristics dominating throughout. There’s not much malt presence and the body is kind of thin but not watery. Again, a pleasant surprise especially for someone who wants a more floral hop taste over citrus or resin.

Very foamy beer. Good IPA taste. The foamyness of the beer is very weird.... Kind of kills it for me.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours an orange amber with about a finger of light tan head. Light hop aroma with some hints of grass. Surprising amount of brown sugar to the taste, with just some subtle hints of hops in the aftertaste. Not much of an IPA, but fairly tasty

Tried at Pippin's Chicago. Decent IPA. Not too hoppy, but then again I love the hops. Yum.

This beer sucks. Red pour with floating things. Smells ok. Not a big Dan of this one. Average at best

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle and served in GI IPA tulip: Well it pours much darker (near coppery crimson) than expected which a quickly fading head and almost no lace. Sorry that is NOT what an IPA should look like, perhaps a hoppy amber ale instead? The aroma indeed comes off with crystal/caramel notes along with some soapy and band-aid note which hurts the fruity and herbal hop esters. Plenty of Diacetyl butterscotch overtones as well. The taste is a tad better with a metallic and abrasive tea-baggy bitterness over the too sweet malts. This simply does not cut it, far too sweet and far too tannic. Even as a hoppy Amber Ale, it is not all that good (2.0) . This needs some serious tweaking...
