While this isnít groundbreaking, I think itís a pretty solid beer. Nice sharp taste accented by interesting sugary sweet flavors that finishes quite clean. If youíre looking for "big IPA" this isnít it. But if youíre looking for a drinkable IPA, this would not be a bad choice. Many would call it bitter, but hop heads might want a bit more. My biggest disappointment is itís just a little too well behaved-- nothing about it is particularly prominent, unique or noteworthy. But itís really not bad in any significant way either. So, "pretty good IPA".

Rally tasty ipa that is not too overpowering. Goes down smooth and has the right amount of butter taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour is a copper with a small white head. Aroma is a citrus hop. Flavor is more of that citrus hop with a minor caramel malt backbone. Not a world beater IPA but it has plenty of hop flavor with some chewy malts in the backround. Better than the rating on here.

Copper hue with a light tan head. Aroma is spicy with roasted malt. Taste is malt, a little spicy hops.

12 oz bottle pours a clear copper color with a small off-white head that immediately turns to lacing. Not much to smell. Aroma has some floral hops and caramel malts, but not much more. Body is light with average carbonation. Tastes sweet and malty with a slightly bitter finish. I really wanted to like this one, a favorite style, from the only brewer on the South Side of Chicago (where I live), but it is one of the least impressive IPAís Iíve tried.

I got this as part of an M&M 6pack at Everettís in South Beloit, IL in summer 2012. Pours a medium brown color with a slight head. This is perhaps one of the darkest IPAís I have ever seen as it almost has the color of a nut brown ale. Scent is mild with bitter hops giving it that great IPA scent. The taste is both bitter and malty at the same time. There is the bitterness from the hops and the bold taste of toasted malts usually found in a red/amber brew. Certainly unique in both color and taste which is either good or bad depending on your beer of choice. I found this beer highly likeable and liked the bold decisions in making this beer.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2013 12 oz. bottle poured a copper colored hue into pint glass, with a head...whoa! wait a tick, only got about 4 oz into glass and the foam just kept coming, almost over the top of glass, some bubbles slightly lrgr thn nrml. Sumfin ain?t right, took a whiff,no discernable hop pres. at all, slight malt nose that?s it.Taste, not much to speak of, alittle bit a malt,bitter/sour finish.Any quality control over there at Argus? Infected bottles? Not too sure, dont seem like it. QUite disappointed, was expecting a decent IPA instead got a 6pk of drain pours

Aroma is pine, yeast and an almost vegetable/spice element. The flavor is citrus, spices, malts and a mildly tart finish.

Bottle to taster glass at Chicago Beer Fest. I had low expectations and they were definitely exceeded by this beer. First thing you notice is the striking copper color with a dense cream colored head. Itís very pretty in the glass and unexpectedly dark for the style. Aroma is mild hop aromatics. The flavor is very flowery with floral hop characteristics dominating throughout. Thereís not much malt presence and the body is kind of thin but not watery. Again, a pleasant surprise especially for someone who wants a more floral hop taste over citrus or resin.
