3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pour on tap at the brewpub, slightly hazy reddish pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, dark fruit, raisin, plum into a bit of spice, some yeasty notes into a bit of grass. Taste was a sweet mix of dark fruit, raisin, fig into some spice, yeast, toasted bread with a hint of caramel, slight grass, finishing sweet. Too sweet for my tastes.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
draft, as a self-proclaimed dubbel aficionado, this is a good attempt, above average for the american verison but no westy 8, or chimay red at all. Different leagues. This is still characteristically nutty and caramel with a touch of dry smoke on thie finish which i enjoyed.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draft. Brown with a red hue, one finger off white head. Raisin, figs, dark fruit aroma. Taste isn’t as strong as Belgian versions, but still a pretty good dubbel.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at brewpub. Deep dark ruby amber with creamy beige head. Medium plus body. Smooooth. Not overly malty or sweet. Fair dryness. Mild bitterness. Touch of spiciness. Yeast is working its magic. Good, quality brew.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
I’ve never been a fan of American-made dubbels and this is just another case of why. The belgian yeast character is completely missing and finishes too dry for my liking. I don’t know where these people are getting sweet from but it definitely leaned towards bitter for me. Doesn’t smell like a dubbel either.

Like this one a lot. A bit sweeter than the style typically demands, but it works well here. Would love to see a quad from these guys.

>> Clear deep red pour, webby silver lace. Nose is tomato and celery, phenols, black pepper. Taste has some celery, tomato soup. Not good. Did not enjoy.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown with reddish hue pour and small off white head. Aroma of malts, bread dough, slightly fruity. Taste of bready malts, slight prune, hint of caramel, Belgian yeast. Medium bodied, higher carbonation, perfectly balanced, slightly dry peppery finish. Nice solid dubbel!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewery. Pours dark, clear, mahogany with a light head that dissipates quickly. Light raisin, dates, and burnt sugar on the nose. The taste features a moderate plum tone, some brown sugar, light cinnamon, and dry clove and light bitter hops on the finish. Roasted malt takes over as the beer warms and is accompanied by a slight booziness. Solid dubbel.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft sample. Nice brown pour with ruby highlights and a small tan head. Aroma is baking chocolate and dark malt. Flavor trends towards the bitter side of espresso with some spice. A touch of booziness too. Good.
