Keg at the kings arms buckfast street. They are really struggling to shift this keg. Translucent golden brown coloured pour with a lasting off white frothy head. Aroma holds, sweet toffee, oak and vanilla with a little calvados, wood, america oak. Flavour is composed of rounded malts, toffee and spicy oak, vanilla and some creamy alcoholic pudding. Maybe a little warming calvados in the finish. Slightly tangy finish. Palate is medium sweet, highish frothy carbonation slight oak tannin the finish. Interesting beer.

Scopey (10026) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 18, 2015
Tap at Kings Arms. It pours cloudy deep red-brown with a decent off-white head. The nose is soft, juicy, jammy, sweet red grape, vinous. The taste is smooth, juicy red grape, jammy berry, toasted brown bread, warming alcohol, wood, fig, light spice and over-ripe stone fruit with a smooth, fruity finish. Full body and decent carbonation. Rather jammy grape character. Good depth. Rather nice.

Nocturne (1380) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - SEP 24, 2015
Keg at Buxton Tap House. Murky reddish brown. Thin head. The grapes really give this an interesting character, although they seem to subtract from the maltier side of this barley wine. Tangy and sweet before ending a bit dry. Quite drinkable. Good effort.

UPDATED: JUN 25, 2015 Terrifically smooth, complex barley wine. Red wine flavor complements it well. This batch was aged in red wine barrels. High ABV doesn?t show. At the brewery?s brand new tasting room.

Tap sample. Poured clear reddish copper color with a moderate frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with very good lacing. Moderate to heavy dark fruit and small alcohol aroma.
