3.2% ABV, 1.006 FG, 3.5 SRM, local Sonoran white wheat from Hayden Mills.

This ainít your Grandaddyís wheat ale! We embrace the crazy things that some other breweries will not speak of. All the "bugs and critters", as we say, go bonkers in the mash tun creating a sour mash. Similar to making yogurt and sauerkraut, a controlled temperature allows lactic acid creating bacteria to create a souring effect. We boil to politely "remove" the little guys. Refreshing, delightful, tangy, and just plain wonderful! (Itís OK to not like this one, at least you tried it!) Oh, and locally grown (Sossman Farms) Sonoran White Wheat is at the heart of this beer. Drink Local!

Food paring: Bavarian pretzel sticks.

Pour on tap at the brewpub, hazy straw yellow pour with white head, aroma brought notes of nice lemon peel, lactic acid, touch of grain, grass, touch of vanilla, slight yeasty note. Taste was a mix of lemon, biscuit, bread, nice lactic note into a bit of grain, finishing slightly tart, slightly dry.

Not usually a fan of this style. However, this one is quite good. The tartness is perfect -- not too much.

Draft at the source. Very pale yellow pour with no head. Aroma is very wheat forward with some light lemon, cracker malts, and a bit grainy. Taste is moderately tart for the style but is really lacking in overall flavor profile and mouthfeel to be anything but an average American berliner.

draft, strong wheat and moderate tart, this is a VERY easy drinker, with extra points there. Tasty beer for sure.

Tap at the brewpub. The look is clear, Chardonnay look, thin white head. The smell is tart, wine, lemonade, hops, nice. The taste is thin, tart, lemons, dry, fruit, well balanced.

On draft at AZ Wilderness. Light straw body with a mild haze. Small white head. Aromas of grain, earth, mild funk, a touch of fruity. Grain with a touch of stone fruit and a slice of lemon. Subtle earthy and herbal notes as well. Thin bodied, almost watery. A good choice for a hot Arizona summer day.

Reviewing from notes at Great Nebraska Beer Festival. Aroma has a nice grainy, wheat character with some moderate lactic acidity and some nice lemon notes. Pours a rather clear, very pale, straw color with a big, rocky, white head that recedes somewhat quickly. Flavor has a nice wheat note and a touch of grain with moderate acidity. Some light citrus notes. Mouthfeel is light bodied with light carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice clean Berliner on the lighter side of the Berliner spectrum. This had the malt character that I thought the raspberry berliner from Destihl was lacking.

(Rating August 2014 Batch) Bready smell. Light sour taste with bready aftertaste. Medium sharp carbonation.

Growler. Pours a very light golden with minimal to no head. Bubbles popping up from the bottom and is carbed. Aroma is feet, peach skin, slight sour mash and hay. Taste is a light sour apple, some creamy peach in not so good a way, seltzer water finish. Some chardonnay comes in at the end when it warms too but Iím not really digging that.

Draft. Cloudy dark yellow golden. Fluffy frothy creamy lasting sticky white head. Yogurt. Blue cheese. Lemon. Quite tangy. Cherrios. Some creamy wheat. Tons of character. Crisp. Refreshing with a nice zip. Way better than any other Berliner Iíve had.
