Many of you craft beer aficionados began your beer-drinking lives with yellow swill out of horse troughs and gas stations. Then, in a moment of serendipity, a certain beer graced your palate and changed your destiny of taste. If this Double IPA was given too early, the tongue of the inexperienced beer drink may shrivel up and die in the desert of hops. Not you though; you have reached your beernucopia and can appreciate massive amounts of expensive hops. Let’s see … Centennial, Chinook, Columbus, Citra, Cascade (whole cone), and Galaxy hops joined the party. A blend of malts that unifies this ale into a pint of pine, dank, citrus, mango, and pleasure. Enjoy, good person, you are a craft beer lover.

Crowler shared by a friend. Clearish orange pour with a medium white head. Aroma of malt, orange and pine. Malty flavor giving way to orange sweetness before a piney hop finish. Nice.

Tasted on 7/17/16 from a 32oz can purchased at the brewery. Pours nearly clear pale orange with a thick off-white head that slowly recedes to thick, super sticky lace. The nose is a really cool mixture of citrus peel, tropical fruit, dank grassy resin, and just a hint of bread malt. The flavor is a bit more citrus peel, still tons of tropical mango, with the grassy resin providing some bitterness, and just enough malt to balance. The body is medium with a somewhat oily, round texture, average carbonation, and a long lightly bitter citrus peel and mango finish.

Golden pour with a slight white head at the brewpub. Pleasant hoppy nose. Big hops here, pine and citrus. Finishes dry and bitter but not overly so.

>> Big surprise today from AZW. Chewy and denser copper style DIPA - usually a surefire recipe to a 3.3 rating from me max. However, this one is able to pull it off with a chewy but not sticky malt backbone, some balancing toffee to a big hop smackdown. Juicy mouthfeel, fresh. Never nutty or too heavy feeling.

Growler shared by oRos. Pours copper with a nice beige head and a stong citrus aroma. There is a full-bodied caramel malt flavor with a firmly bitter finish that stays on the palate for a while. Nice hop profile.
