Cloudy yellow pour with no head. Aroma is funky citrus and lemon. Flavor is funky sour, orange and grapefruit.

Cloudy light yellow pour with small white head. Aroma of strong blue cheese, lemony citrus and vinegar. Not a pleasant aroma. Taste is much better, lemony tartness, lacto, some funk, sweet grapes on the finish. Barrel aging has softened out this and made it quite enjoyable to drink. Light bodied, lower carbonation, nice and crisp and refreshing, too bad for the smell, tastes mighty good though.

On tap at the brewpub where the beer pours with an opaque papery pale gold body that supports a thin white head. The aroma is big and cheesy feet that’s mostly blue cheese funk mixed with a slight sour mash like note. The cheesy aroma is prodigious. Wow. The taste comes across pretty thin in body and refreshing where liquid moldy funked up cheese assaults the senses but before you can do anything about it it quickly gets into tart and a bit of a puckering sensation. Far off in the background I get subtle yet pleasing sour mash notes. Wow! Interesting brew. The wife took one sip and refused to take a second one.

Not sure why others don’t but I LOVE THIS BEER! For me, everything is better with the addition of beer, cheese, and bacon. No pork fat included but this is a tart, bitter, lactic sour with gorgonzola, Maytag blue, and stinky Roquefort. Want to spread this on a cracker or coat it on bruschetta. Lemon, yeast, floral notes, and funky-cold medina. Aggressive and unique.

No head. Unclear light golden orange. Cheesy. Funky. Some barnyard. Pretty strong Sour. citrus. A good zing. Fuller Light body. Minimal carbonation. Light woodiness. Slight white wine. Certainly has a lot of character. A bit mellower than the base. Probably not for everyone, but I enjoyed it.

Hazy yellow pour with a quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is funky with some light cheesy smells, but overall, toned down from the batch this was aged from. Taste is sour, tart, citrus and definite Chardonnay notes. A really nice flavor after the original batch of this barreling was a little tough on the nose. Really enjoy it.

3.5% On draft at the brewpub. Mild Parmesan and bleu cheese aroma tempered by a sweet citrus tone and the briefest hint of white grapes. Pours super cloudy (almost flat) light lemon yellow with hardly any head. A light tart lemon juice taste with mild vanilla yeasty characteristics; the Chardonnay notes are a bit subdued until the very end with a sweet and dry vinous finish. Lighter acidity than the base Bear Wallow Berliner Weiss. The barrel time has smoothed out the sharp nose and added an subtle sweet tweak, creating a delightful treat.

Pours a straw like color with little white head. The aroma is what keeps me from scoring this higher. It reminds me of some type of cheese. Once you get past that, the flavors are pretty refreshing with notes of lemon, a dryness from the chard barrels, and just a hint of cheese.

Hazed gold, very small white head. The Chardonnay barrels have mellowed the nose, roasted lemons, yeast, wheat. Flavor is nice and sour, the barrels have taken away some funk and left a nice sour Berliner with light white wine notes.
